Easy to install:
- Turn the alarm body counterclockwise and take off the bracket.
- Hold the bracket in the installation position as specified in the Recommended Locations,mark installation holes of the bracket with pencil.
- Drill the two marked installation holes with a 3/16 inch(5mm)drill bit.Tap the two plastic gromments into holes with hammer.
- Mount the bracket to the ceiling by inserting and tightening the supplied screws into plastic grommets.
- Fix the alarm on the bracket and turn the alarm body clockwise , until fully inserted on the bracket.

These were easy to install and are great value. They are a huge improvement over the other sets that I've had. I am planning to purchase more, and these will be my first choice.

Great buy at 3 for one price. Easy to install. Mounted it in less than 5 minutes.Things I really like:1. 10 year lithium battery. No more check the battery everythimg we go through daylight savings time.2. Smoke detector AND carbon monoxide detector.3. Easy push button to disable it if it goes off. It's a big button.Every home should have a smoke detector on every level of the house, including basement and if you are on a single level, one in the kitchen area and at least one bedroom.

As others have noted, they're defective out of the box. When you put them on the base, they just start beeping and don't stop. Useless. Unclear how anyone has given a positive review, maybe there is just a whole run that was defective and it's a crap shoot what you get. Bummer because you can't get this same feature set in a major brand for some reason.

I ordered 12 of these to replace old detectors and get a house ready for sale. They are well packaged with minimal wasteful packaging which I really appreciated. Each detector includes a ten-year battery as described. There are multiple types of alarms depending on the situation (low battery, smoke, CO, etc). Each detector also comes with screws and plastic screw anchors which makes installation easy--I was able to install them all in 1-hour. They passed the tests without issues. I am glad I went with this brand for its complete features and great value.
