Works as advertised, included screws weren’t flat, so I had to order different ones so they would connect to my NAS properly (Synology RackStation). They advertise it as such, but this really won’t provide any additional cooling because it’s plastic, not metal like the design these were copied from (WD Black). Overall, great product, inexpensive, and it works.

Yes, the adapter is plastic. I'm A-OK with that. The adapter is very easy to place and connect the 2.5 SSD, and comes with 4 screws to secure it to the case. The additional screws are for mounting to your PC. In many cases, you probably won't need this for replacing an old platter 3.5" HDD. I've bought the single and double packs a few times now. Easy every time.

These bracket adapters are pretty nice! I got the pair (set of 2) because I was planning to use one of them in my old PS2 to help my 2.5" HDD I installed into it to sit better and more secure. And for that console it works great for that!The other one, I wasn't sure would work, but it does well enough and that is using it on my original XBOX that again, I have a 2.5" HDD installed into. I wasn't sure it would fit with the added IDE to SATA adapter but it does just fit. The only problem to be aware of is that the 4-pin power molex will have the wiring facing up taller than the drive assembly when installed, so it could get pinched or crimped in some situations. But that isn't a fault of the bracket assembly. Just know that these are designed to take up the entire space that a normal half height 3.5" drive would have taken up back in the day.

These adapters are a lot easier to use than the rail-type adapters that I have used in the past; these fit perfectly whereas I had some trouble making the less substantial adapters work. Those worked after a fashion but I was never really sure how exactly they were supposed to fit, but these really do turn a 2.5" drive into a 3.5" drive.

I bought this so I could replace the hard drives in my Western Digital myCloud Ex2 Ultra with SSDs. I wanted the added SSD speed as well as the lower power consumption of the solid state drives over the physical spinning platters. The SSDs fit into the adapters perfectly and the adapters fit into the NAS perfectly, but when I loaded them into the NAS it (the NAS) could not see them. I tried repeatedly to get them to work using different SSDs, but the NAS just never saw any of the solid state devices.I was disappointed, but then tried the adapter in my IDSonix Hard Drive Docking Station and the device recognized the SSDs without any issue, so apparently the problem with my Western Digital NAS was not related to the adapters, but probably to the inability of the NAS to understand the SSD Trim interface and so had nothing to do with the adapter itself.Given that the adapter worked perfectly with the IDSonix Docking Station I am giving this adapter 5 stars. It is not responsible for the limitations of my NAS and worked perfectly with newer HD drives.

Works perfectly good with hotswap bays. Best suited for system where 3.5 inch hdd are mostly used such as NAS / WORKSTATION / SERVER.
