The anti chew wire robes are very useful and can be matched with other leashes. The leash handle for this product is large and heavy, so l do not use it. I use the wire robes with other dog leashes.

Love the extenders they are chew proof. My dogs chewed through every other leash in seconds but this has seemed to work for us they tried then did not like the metal and stopped chewing leash. It is very strong and will stop leash chewing. This is definitely worth the money and is very durable. Great for the price would definitely buy again.

The large dog size is definately a step up from the one I had been using. Good grip, nice brake lock and it retracts extremely smooth. Glad I made it my choice of many to choose from.

I purchased this for the advertised chew resistance because I have a medium breed puppy who is still getting out of the stage of chewing and/or grabbing things with her mouth. I've used this a little over a month, and the leash has already ripped halfway through, so I don't trust it to not tear the rest of the way.I liked the design, it was easy to use, it was the right size, and it worked well. I would have given 5 stars had it had greater chew resistance, as advertised, or at least lasted 6 months, rather than barely 6 weeks.I will provide an update if the company rectifies this.

My 18 month old cocker spaniel chewed through every leash I tried. This retractable 26’ leash with two chew proof ends is the solution! It came with two plastic coated cables. He keeps one attached to his collar at all times, and the other is attached to the end of the retractable leash. After he’s chased geese, and is good and muddy, he jumps into the back of my truck into his crate and I can quickly disconnect him from the main leash, and leave the other leash in place. Connecting him up for a walk has never been easier and he loves the 26 foot length of the retractable leash! Money well spent. I don’t think you can go wrong. I’m sold. I don’t think I will ever have to buy another leash!

Everything worked as advertised. A couple things I didn't like though, when holding down the "brake" on the handle, it always locks so you can't just release and the leash is loose again. also, when using the wire extension, the clip on the leash tends to drag on the ground. Otherwise, it has worked great.

OK, this is a little odd, and I hope none of you have to deal with this, but 3 weeks ago I was on the deck with our puppy. She went into the yard, then saw a squirrel. I didn't have time to react before she pulled me through the picket fence and onto the ground, about 9 ft to the ground. The leash held together better than I did! While I recover with my volleyball sized hematoma from the fall, I thought I'd write my review. The leash is fine, but the metal cable extender broke and is not repairable.The retractable mechanism on the leash doesn't retract as well as I think it should, but maybe that's because of the weight of the chew-proof extension? All that aside, I would buy this again and recommend it to others! Don't mind me, I'm just over here trying to get this hematoma to go away...

If i could give this leash system a zero star review, i would, but you have to give at least a one star for Amazon to include your review. This product nearly got my dog killed. I was walking my new rescue dog which I've had for about a month. He's still kind of rough around the edges but he's getting better. I'm trying to break him from trying to chase the cars that go by, not to mention his personal favorite, electric bikes. I was walking him this afternoon, using this product, the 26 foot retractable leash with the shorter of the chewproof wire cables attached to his harness. I have been using it every day for a week and a half or so with no problem and was not expecting one to happen. Today, we walked out of the front door and as usual he was excited to be going for a walk. We were crossing the front yard and he gave the leash a small tug, but evidently that's all it took. The loop that attaches to the clip on his harness came undone and the retractable portion zipped back into the handle and my dog zipped right out into the street. I'm 71 yrs. old so naturally the dog was much faster than i am. I heard a rumble and when I looked i was horrified to see a big truck barreling toward him. The truck was on top of us in a blink and there was absolutely nothing i could do. Thank God, the driver saw him just in time to slam on his brakes to avoid completely running him over. As a result, he has a lame leg and a severely bruised shoulder, but it could've been much, much worse. After a trip to the vet and $475 later, he's home and healing. This leash might be all you need for a smaller dog, but sisce it's advertised as being of sufficient strength for a large dog i trusted it, unfortunately. Now my dog is not small, but he's still less than a year old and has not nearly come into the strength he will have when he's grown, but even then, this leash component failed at the worst possible time and nearly got him killed. I have included a picture of the failed component. If you have a smaller dog, or one that is very calm, this leash might work, but if your dog might get excited and give a leash too much of a pull, shop around and find another one that will allow him to grow and live a good long life, because this leash system is just an tragedy waiting to happen.
