Our rescue pup was a rescue from a shelter where he spent nine months before we adopted him. Not surprisingly, he is very food motivated and would seem to inhale his meals. The slow feeder bowl has in, fact, slowed him down a little, which is a good thing. Recommended!

This is a nice steel bowl but it is for dogs more than cats. It is large. I love that it comes with soft stickers to help protect your floor. It does help to slow down eating if you get the food down into the grooves.

I tried this with my 30lb basset/dachshund mix and it didn't slow him up one bit. He ate through his food with the same speed as an open bowl. There are no rubberized feet attached to the bowl but rather stick on round pads that don't really hold it in place. My pup had it scooting around all over the kitchen on laminate wood flooring. The bowl is also incredibly light, which allows the food bowl to be moved very easily. This bowl may be better suited to a flat faced, smaller dog.

Our little girl is VERY food motivated, and eats her food so quickly, that I fear she will cause her stomach to flip (bloat). So, we went looking for a food bowl that would make her slow down and make her hunt for her food in the bowl. This bowl worked perfectly! What was a food inhale counted in seconds took minutes as she nosed her way through all the bumps and crevices on this bowl to make sure she didn't miss a bite. I love it, thank you!

My cat is kinda special and has trouble drinking from a regular water bowl. He sticks his whole face in the bowl and gets wet all over. This bowl keeps him from sticking his whole face in the water and prevents him from splashing water everywhere. It seems to mimic drinking from puddles outside (he is an adopted stray cat) and makes the cat more comfortable. A very good bowl.

I love it feels durable and well made, great for my little poodle who has an extra short snout.Easy to clean and lightweight.My only complaint is how large it is. Even for a larger dog, it just feels too big around.Overall, my dog eats slower with this than without using it so it's serving its purpose.

Metal dish with random shaped depressions for placement of food. Kitty thought it was interesting and ate dry food a couple of times. She isn't impressed with wet food. Dish is silver, shiny and well made. Depressions are sufficient size for ease in cleaning.

PROS:- at the time of this review, the price listed is $18.99; very expensive because you can purchase a similar product for a much lower price point at stores- appreciate that it is stainless- fast/quick deliveryCONS:- made in China- poorly packaged; came in a thin, crush-able cardboard box within the white Amazon bag- not very durable or heavy duty; very light- I can only imagine the plate becoming rust as time passes- they provide sticky pads to keep the plate in place but what happens if you want to move it around? [they do not give you enough to move this item around and I do not want to think how sticky or how difficult these sticky pads will be to remove]
