Car battery charger QA

1: Can't reach the maximum charging current? To protect the battery, the system automatically identifies the battery voltage and selects the most appropriate current to charge the battery. When the battery voltage is low (for example, the 12V battery voltage is less than 11V), the system automatically charges the battery at the maximum current. (3 gears can adjust charging current, large current, fast charging)

2: The LifePO4 battery is not fully charged? When the battery is fully charged, it has a callback function, reducing the charge by about 1V-2V, which is normal. Added a small current after full charge uninterrupted charging.

3: Fan noise? It is normal that the fan has wind.

Works well on my lifepo4 battery. Shut off when battery hit 100%. I'd give it a 5 star but documentation could be better I had to go on line to videos to find description of some of the information shown.

This is a great charger - so much better than the old heavy style. I has all the right options to charge any type of battery.

I've only used this on the battery for my motorcycle so far, but it works great. It was an awesome price, I priced. It other local places near me and it was a lot cheaper, so i'm happy for. It works exactly how it's supposed to. It's super light charges, great and really easy to. I love that when you hook it up at automatically.Detects, what kind of battery it's charging So that's amazing!

I bought this charger along with a LiPuls battery. Ran the battery down to nothing and recharged overnight then ran the battery down just a little. Both times the charger sensed the amount of charge needed and switched off accordingly. Its lightweight compact and easy to setup. Easy to read panel tells you what you need to know during charging. Cords are long enough for convenient use. No complaints....This one is a winner.

I bought two of these units on a leap of faith that they would perform according to their spec. Well, the important stuff does! Here's what I like about the 20 AMP PRO MAX units that I bought:1. It does a good job of charging a LiFePo battery bank to 14.4 volts as needed.2. It automatically detects the battery type. Didn't think I'd like this but it seems to do what it's supposed to do.3. It REMEMBERS it's settings if it loses power and resumes operation when power is restored. This is a HUGE benefit and really a necessity in my situation. The cheaper competitor unit I bought is being returned because it couldn't do this. Now for the "cons".1. Although it's set for an LiFePo battery, it never put out a full 20 amps of current. It folded back to 16 amps for most of the charge cycle and then cycled at lower currents at nearly full charge.Since the LiFePo batteries have built-in over-current and over-charging features in the form of a BMS unit, I wasn't concerned about the "nearly charged" behavior, but I am disappointed in the charger failing to provide maximum current at lower voltage readings. In fact, unless needed to protect the charger itself, I see no reason for it to limit output current on an LiFePo setting EVER. As I said; The built-in BMS handles this on that type of battery. So I'm dinging them one star because otherwise everything seems to work well and (almost) fits my needs.UPDATE on 8-2-2024OK; I've had two of these for a while now. I use them to provide backup power and refresh of a battery backup system that has three 200AH LiFePo batteries tied in parallel. It's for electronics backup power so it acts like a large UPS or if you prefer; a "stationary" RV application. So the problem is; the charger kept the batteries at 14.4v most of the time. Then it reported "FULL one day and I decided to see what would happen as the system discharged. Well; the system discharged completely and the charger never resumed charging on it's own. This is a huge disappointment. Now; the units seem to want to treat the LiFePo as a lead acid and it shows "FULL again at about 13.6v.I really wanted to like these and I was going to buy more but, I don't think the algorithm for "automatically" determining the battery type is reliable.

Significantly cheaper than anything at local hardware stores, all the same features, light, well thought out and works well so far. Heat is not an issue, but I am only charging smaller 12 volt lithium batteries as yet. Very easy to use and store. Only thing I don't like is the display keeps flipping from one screen to the next during charge. This could be further simplified. Quick shipping as well.

It works as intended but keep in mind that it will not work on a fully discharged battery. The battery must hold a little bit of charge so the charger can "know" what it is connected and proceed with the charge.

Easy to use - select a type of battery to charge and you are good to go. Works well with my 12V 100aH LifePO4 battery, it takes about 5 hours from 0% to full charge. It does deliver 20Amp but the amperage will fluctuate depending of the battery's SOC. The charger and the charging cables don't get hot. But, the fan is loud when kicks in - it will eventually stop when the battery is almost full. One thing you should be aware is that the display will say "OFF" if you unplug and plug the charger to an outlet after the battery is fully charged. Apparently, this is normal according to the seller. I thought something was wrong with the charger when I see it at first.

I bought two of these and both were returned for the same problems! It charged a LiPO4 100AH battery fine (and turned off the terribly noisy fan upon completion) but then when the battery was discharged to 60% charged, it still falsely reported a FULL charge even though the voltage was now only a little over 12 volts instead of 13.97 volts. It’s a dumb charger that can’t measure a discharged battery after charging and incorrectly reports it as fully charged. The charger never restarted to charge a discharged battery. The battery was fully discharged and the charger still showed that it was at full charged and just sat there until I removed and reconnected the AC cord to restart it. Then it powered with the wrong type of battery selected and had to be manually reprogrammed to the lithium battery setting. This is dangerous and a really dumb “smart charger”!!The next problem is that both chargers radiated VERY strong RF noise all across the radio spectrum. One can’t use a charger that blocks reception of all HF signals with extremely strong interference. Simple and effective noise filtering / shielding could have eliminated this problem, but it’s just plain dumb to market strong noise radiators! The F.C.C. has restrictions on such unintentional radiators of strong noise for a reason and this defect was not disclosed in their technical specs. The last issue is that the fans are extremely LOUD and could be heard quite clearly next door. This might be okay in a garage setting but such loud noise levels should have been disclosed in the specs. To fail such a disclosure is just plain dumb!
