There isn't much to say about these, other than they do the job they were meant to do, and well.

I was looking for some shelf pins that are smaller in size and I dont have to drill holes too deep as my cabinet sides are 1/2in ply. Drilling holes for shelf support pins was risky in my case due to thin ply. This looked like the best solution. The size was good and you dont have to predrill holes. The screw length is a little over 1/2 in but I didnt screw them in all the way. Its plenty strong to hold the shelves. It even has white plastic covers if you want to hide the pins.I have even used these as foot for a wooden flower pot. Good point for that is, it can be adjusted to accommodate for floor leveling.

the white caps are absolute garbage. they are made cheaply, looks horrible and the open ends arnt smooth. and the cap end has a horrible seem. the screw peg itself is nice and look better without the cap on them.

I find that these are great for repairs when you have a damaged hole for a shelf pin. If you don't have a jig that you can use on your bookcase to drill a standard hole you can use one of these. Screw it in right next to the old damaged hole and align it properly so the shelf doesn't wobble. It has a silicon sleeve that fits over it if you are supporting glass shelves to protect it and prevent a rattling sound, or if you're using standard wood shelves, you can leave it off. It's also a very simple way to add shelves to something that isn't meant to have them if you don't have a jig.

Laminate Shelf pins, as you no doubt have discovered, can DISAPPEAR when you least expect it, and your shelf goes flopping up and tossing things on the floor!Enter these self-tapping screw shelf pins. For MOST shelve, they work like a charm, and go right in, and STAY PUT.Some, however, (I think it's probably less a fault of the pins, and more a fault of the off-size holes in the shelf, or maybe a super-hard glue laminate that refuses to budge) they simply do not tap correctly. One thing that IS the screw's problem in these cases, tho, is how the head of the pins don't always fit well to a standard phillips or flat screwdriver, and so tend to strip or deform a bit in the stress... especially when turning and attempting to tap into that hole is simply not going smoothly. As I said... the large majority tap just fine and work famously. But some can be real challenge.MOSTLY good, and even nigh on PERFECT... But not all... So I'll say FOUR out of FIVE

I got these for a project that does not involve hanging shelves. Specifically, I am attaching them to a surface I want to cover with silicone. I got them specifically because they are advertised as coming with "silicone sleeves." Silicone sticks to itself, so I figured I'd embed the screws in the surface, cast silicone over it, and then have a sremovable silicone mat with sleeves that could be slipped over the screws to hold it on.The caps are not silicone.I am not sure what they are. They feel like they might be vinyl, but they aren't silicone.Silicone caps provide a lot more cushion and support than materials like vinyl. These will probably work fine with most shelves, though if you're using them with glass shelves you really want silicone; it's less likely to result in chipping than other materials. For wood or particle board or plastic or laminate shelves, they're fine. For glass shelves, they're okay, but not great.I knocked two stars off because I hate when manufacturers make misleading or inaccurate statements about their products. These are okay shelf supports—not great, but okay—but the sleeves aren't made of silicone the way the description claims.

Exactly what we needed to hold up shelves that had a habit of falling off smaller supports (and breaking what was on them!)

TYHBO has done a great service making this product available. I have a tall bathroom cabinet that I always wished had more shelves. Finally I got a board and cut a few shelves out of it. I even bought some shelf pins. But when I went to put the shelves in the cabinet, I realized that the cabinet didn’t have any extra holes! What kind of cabinet maker would put shelves so far apart without additional holes in between??? Disappointed, I set the shelves aside. A few months later, I happened to see these screw-in shelf pins on Amazon. They’re the perfect solution for this problem, as no existing holes are required! The TYHBO self-tapping shelf pins specifically allow you to put shelf pins where there are no holes. Just be sure to measure carefully and draw lines so your shelf will be level. Even though these are self-tapping screws, it helps to make a pilot hole with a punch awl or a drill, which will make it easier to screw in these shelf pins. The metal pins come with optional non-slip silicone covers that you can put on for holding glass shelves; or perhaps if one pin is slightly off kilter, the silicone cover may be enough to fill in the gap. This set contains a whole bunch of shelf pins and covers in a reusable plastic storage case!
