We installed spacers in our bookshelves cause we needed it a little more wide but the original dowels were too short so we ordered these and they work perfectly. Came in a little plastic case which was nice. Original dowels were wood but these are metal so a lot stronger. Highly recommend and will be buying again.

I used these pins on a pot rack that I built. They're installed in the rack where they're barely visible but provide secure anchors the pot hooks. These dowel pins are excellent quality. They are exceptionally well made to exacting tolerances.

there is nothing wrong with these, sturdy, fit into hole sizes defined by peg, the only reason I sent them back after I tried them in wide shelves, the shelves tended to move easily since not a lot of surface area, so I bought shelf supports that have a back and bottom that is wider than these pins, and worked much better, also can put double sided tape on the base to really keep the shelves from moving.If you are making your own bookcase to have variable shelves you may also want to consider buying a VIX bit and the see-through template (both low cost), which makes aligning and drilling the holes really easy and accurate.
