Never even knew these were a thing. Used in the last freeze we had and worked like a charm. Keep in mind, I live in Houston so when I say freeze, it was below 30 deg F for a few days, so keep that in mind. I will assume they work just as well for colder but can't say for sure. Felt like this was a better option than just using foam pipe wrap.

I used these on the watering system of my rabbitry. I merely zip-tied the cable along the length of the water pipes leading from the main rain-water collection storage tanks, and passing along the lower face of each rabbit cage, where the nipples are located. Once that part was done, I merely wrap the pipe and tape with insulating wrap, to trap the heat inside. I live in OH and we've been getting a lot of snow this year, along with some very cold temps and this setup is working perfectly for me thus far. The thermostatic controllers are working perfectly, keeping the pipes and nipples from freezing. Very, very pleased.

As winter approaches, ensuring my water pipes remain protected from freezing has been crucial, especially since my bathroom pipes seem to freeze every winter. I ordered the 2 rolls of 12FT heat tape to combat that problem this year. We have had temperatures in the teens already and these heat tapes do a great job of stopping our pipes from freezing. Gone are the days of crawling under the house with a hairdryer trying to thaw out frozen pipes! The package includes two rolls of heating tape, each measuring 12 feet, which is a great length to cover about 4-5 feet of pipe. I have pex piping and a manifold system which means each water fixture has its own pipe. So, the sinks cold water has a direct run and the hot water has a direct pipe run back to a centralized manifold. Because of this I was able to make two bundles under the house and tie wrap the pipes together. One bundle has the sinks hot and cold along with the showers hot and cold pex lines. The second bundle has the toilet water line and the kitchen sinks water lines bundled and zip ties together. By doing this I can cover 7 water lines with just two heating tapes. On the coldest night so far this year, temperatures were around 15 degrees and we didn't have any lines freeze up. The tape worked beautifully. These heating tapes are designed for long-term use and can remain on the pipes all year, just unplug them from the power source when not in use. With a heating rate of 7.5W/ft and a current rating of 10A, this cable effectively keeps your pipes warm, even in the coldest of weather. One of the features of this heat tape is its built-in thermostat. This manages power consumption by activating when temperatures drop below 41℉ and shutting off when they rise above 59℉.. This not only helps conserve energy but also minimizes safety risks, as the tape self-adjusts its power output to prevent overheating or burning. Installation is simple with this pre-assembled heating cable and you can wrap your pipes or use the tape in a straight line, once done just plug it in and it's ready to go. I can see this being a versatile product to not only work on water lines but to also be utilized for frost protection for plants, sewer and drain pipe and even in RVs. Because of its versatility and ease of use I am more than happy with my order.

Except maybe a long time ago I don't think I've ever had an outlet close enough to water pipes that needed extra protection yet instructions warn against it.Seem to be good heat tape cables with quality materials. If they let me down this winter I will update.Great product. Great value.

I used zip ties to mount on my water lines starting where they come in the house. It has a sensor so you just plug them in. No settings. Easy to use. Not really flexible to wind around anything. You get more distance keeping it straight anyway.

Our outside temperatures are below zero. I purchased 2 of these; installed one. Checked 12 hours later; shouldn't I feel the unit as slightly warm? That pipe froze. Instead, back to space heaters; one started on fire last year! By the way; I couldn't make it coil around the pipe; is not the least bit flexible. Installed as a straight line and secured with small velcro straps. There are no instructions. What is the non-adhesive tape for? Is there some way of turning it on other t Han just plugging it in? What is the significance of the silver button? I'm sorry I purchased something without many customer ratings.
