It works for what we need.

It was super easy to install. I used aluminum foil to wrap my pipes in first then applied the heat tape then more foil. Then topped it off with pipe insulation. Every year my pipes would freeze up with just heat tape and insulation. I did it definitely this year with this heat tape and it's been perfect! Up north is no joke when it comes to freezing under a double wide on a pier set with plastic skirting. The heat tape is a proven winner so far.

This is my humble opinion. Your product excels the competition HANDS DOWN. I have used heat tapes since early 1970 and I have found this product extremely well built I am about to install. And yes my pipe is HEAVY DUTY 1" POLY PIPE for the man that installed my well pump said I can't go wrong. But because it is plastic and thick wall I am using 2 of the 6' heat tapes as you described in your manual and I bought the Aluminum duct tape plus foam insulation I am confident it will last for several YEARS. and I do plan to test the units every fall as instructions read with my meter it's a positive way to do things! Thanks again I am a happy customer!

Well made, much more robust than other brands I've used. Before installing, I tested the thermostat by placing it in a refrigerator, it worked rapidly and exactly as it should. This appears to be built to last forever.

Overall the product works well. no issues with that, I've tested it the best I can without buying the expensive tools they require to fulfill the warranty (see below). Heat the pipes to prevent freezing appears to work. is it worth the money since I can't be sure they'll honor the warranty they advertise so heavily. Not sure. For me the warranty is the only issue since they feature it so prominently on their ads. i wanted to like this company that pushes their warranty and American brand. but hard when they simply are so cagey about the terms.I emailed Radiant Solutions prior to purchase to ask a question. Got an immediate and complete answer within minutes, after hours on a weekend.I purchased the 100' pipe freeze pro based off the great and quick response.while waiting for it to arrive I downloaded the full manual- more complete than what ships with the product. In the manual it discusses testing the device before installing and also terms of the warranty.i tried to test the product as explained using a cold pack, it didn't work, i put the entire device in the freezer and it finally turned green and then got warm. I was unable to perform the second test (required by warranty) which is a resistance test.I emailed RS again to inquire. I was told if the light is on and it gets warm, you are good, no further testing. very fast response, within hours. No mention of the resistance test, so I emailed back and asked how to do the resistance test and if it was truly needed to fulfill the warranty. I was told that I couldn't do it with a normal multimeter and needed a megaohm meter. No answer to the question about necessity to fulfill the warranty.I emailed a reply back to the email I received asking the warranty specific question---3 days no response, so I went back through the website and asked again. This time I was told I needed a specific megaphm meter capable of 1000DCV and 4000megaohms to test the resistance. But still no answer about whether the resistance test and log was needed to fulfill the warranty they brag so highly about.multiple additional emails and website questions with no further response. I even sent a short message pointing out the megaohm meter i was told was needed was over $150, more than their product and had I not read the manual fully I would have wrongly assumed my warranty was as simple as proving ownership. I asked for a response positive or negative before I took to Amazon to post this review about their warranty. i got no response. So based on their unwillingness to discuss any matters related to the warranty I assume the warranty process will be similarly difficult if not impossible to fulfill. So to fulfill this warranty you need to test the resistance initially and annually and document it in a log. using a meter that isn't in most homeowners collection and costs at much, if not more, than the device itself.I'm including the terms of the warranty which also require you to prove to them you installed it according to code and also according to their instructions. One caveat is their instructions advise you to use aluminum tape to secure the cable to the bottom of PEX tubing however, most PEX tubing advises not to use any adhesives because they will leech into the water supply. When I pointed this out to RS they responded, immediately, JUST USE ZIPTIES- still no response to question about the resistance testing though!!!. but does that then void their warranty because you didn't follow the instructions in the manual? I don't know because they won't reply. Here is the warranty section copied from the manual....the costs associated with the installation, removal and reinstallation of the products including both labor and shipping costs incurred to return the product to the Company.Provide the Company with sufficient details relating to the nature of the defect, the installation, the history of operation and any repairs that may have beenmade. This must be done in writing within 30 days of discovery of the alleged warranty issue. At the Company’s discretion and at the owner’s expense, ship the Product to the Company or the Company’s local distributor.Provide proof that the Product was installed in accordance with the applicable Product Installation Manual and any special written design or installationguidelines by Radiant Solutions Company for this project.Provide proof that the Product was installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) or the Canadian Electrical Code, or all applicable local building and electrical codes.Provide a retail sales receipt or proof of purchase.Make a record of your cable testing and inspection on an annual basis and keep on file

Installed under an elevated cottage with exposed PEX plumbing to survive the winter. Installation was straightforward - planning ahead of time is key - i ended up with 20ft of extra cable that i wrapped around a drain. I used standard cheap foam pipe insulation (in 6' sections) from my local homedepot, with weatherproof tape. Plugged into a new outlet installed under the cottage, with a small skirt wrapped around the cottage (mostly a vapour barrier). Outdoor temperatures reached -20C, under cottage temperatures reached -2C, no issues with the plumbing. The fact that this line can be submerged and wrapped over itself shows the quality - it's great and inexpensive. Would buy it again. The 16' of tape that comes with the kit isn't enough.

I bought this heat cable in 2020 and it failed in 2022 during the famous weather bomb. I called up the company and they were very nice and helpful .They told Me that the cable I was using is not the one made for rv hose freezing and sold me an upgraded proper cable at a 60% discount and even threw in a thermostat for free because of the trouble I went through unwraping the old cable. I cannot say enough about their customer service ,they make customer service a priority. Thanks for the wonderful service You gave Me

I needed a heated cable for a water line coming from my house, under the deck, and dumping to the end of the deck. Total footage for the pipe is approximately 25'. Its a drain for my water treatment system (neutralizer). This cable fit perfectly for my application. Just measure ahead of time to ensure you get the correct size. The mental midgets that installed my system (a local company) did not install it correctly and the last two winters saw the water freeze in the pipes and flood my house. After the first time, they said they "fixed" it. Yeah, right.Anyway, it was relatively easy to install. I chose to follow the instructions for an installation outside of the pipe. I applied the cable to the bottom of the pipe (at the 6 o'clock position). I fastened it initially with zip ties then, after it was positioned correctly. I used the provided glass tape to secure the cable to the pipe. I left the zip ties in place too. Then I put my foam pipe insulation around the cable and the pipe sections. I had different widths pipes so I had to use a large and small diameter foam pipe insulation. I ran out of standard pipe insulation and I used a couple of small sections of pool noodles to fill the gaps. They worked perfectly after splitting them down the middle.I also like that there is a light at the end of the cable at the plug. It lets me see quickly and easily that it has power. That is my only fear it not working and it floods my house again. I am trying to keep an eye on it by periodically putting my hand under the end of my deck and seeing that the cable is heated. So far, so good. Nice purchase. I would recommend this product. It would also be good for keeping pipes warm when camping in winter. I like winter camping and may purchase another one for the water spigot and the grey and black tank valves.

This is a really high quality heat cable, well packed, full instructions and data sheet and just a breeze to connect up. It has been executed by the parties in a drainage pipe in front of my garage for about a month now and we have had sub zero conditions and rain. No ice in the pipe. It feels substantial and is well made. I have nothing but good things to say- well worth paying more for something that will do the job
