I have this set up as the primary heat and insulation over a self regulated heat tape. Just in case one fails, the other should kick in and keep the pipe.from freezing. So far, this has done well with no complaints. Easy to install with the hook and loop.

The price for this heated blanket wrap currently is less than 10 bucks, and for that price you really can't pass this up if you can use it. Pay attention to the sizing, as this is designed for pipes no larger than 1 1/2 inches. Some have complained that it doesn't fit their 2" PVC pipe - well no, it won't because it is not designed or advertised for such sized pipes. I suppose you could attach this blanket with zip ties to partially wrap larger diameter pipes and it would still work well in just below freezing temps. Designed well with reflective inner material and a tougher nylon type outer shell with heating elements wired sandwiched in between. The 'velcro' tape is graciously wide and easy to attach. I'm not sure if this heating blanket actually has an internal thermostat or if it simply produces a constant warming temperature no matter the ambient temperature.

Working very well, producing enough heat to protect the facet that is 18 inches above the surface

This unit turned out to be too small for our use and doesn't stay attached.

I am sure it works amazing on an actual faucet. We have not installed ours yet at our chicken coops but when we do, this will be on the pipe with heat tape on the hose at this time to keep the water from freezing so we can use the water all winter. I tried wrapping a 5 gal bucket with it, and it did the job of melting the outer part of the ice/bucket lol but did not melt enough to make drinking water but that isn't what this was made for. Excited to finish installing our water faucet so we can get this on it.

I used the Pipe Insulation Tape (4in x 15ft, Black) to insulate the pipes in my outside PVC going to my air conditioner, and it worked perfectly! The foam material feels durable, and the adhesive backing makes it easy to apply, even for someone like me who’s not particularly handy. I love how flexible it is—it wraps around elbows without issues.

Was able to pit this heating blanket to use during our latest winter freeze. I was worried as we typically have to drain the pipes or leave running with a small drip. This blanket was simple to connect and kept the pipes from freezing when the outside temperature reached 24°. Great investment for protecting an outdoor line that gets forgotten about!

This seems like a well-constructed product and the wrap around design with added insulation should help when protecting pipes from freezing. I am in the south and it will be a while before we have a freeze warning and I can fully test the item, which is one reason for the 3 stars, but there were also 2 minor quibbles. First, the velcro is not super grippy and if one were stretching it to fit, I'm not sure it would hold, although there is a lot of surface area which should make it a non-issue. The other is that the wrap itself, although 6 inches wide, will only fit pipes in the .6"-1.6" diameters, which is probably fine for some old galvanized and copper pipes, but not on 2" pvc, so if this is your use case, I would probably recommend looking elsewhere, although you certainly could just use some strap to secure it. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning, especially since that fact is somewhat buried down in the specs, but nowhere in the description, which should be revised in my opinion to reflect that.
