The size of the rope is perfect, definitely not small but not huge. The texture is a bit rough but that’s how it’s supposed to be. I e ordered this twice since I thought a 2-pack would be enough…it wasn’t.If you have a small tower then one order will do. But if you have a tall tower and you are fixing each pillar, order two of the 2-packs.Some people mentioned a smell but I didn’t notice anything on either order. The quality seems to be pretty good and it was easy to wrap around the pillars. I would not recommend a glue gun. I bought the gorilla heavy duty spray and it works perfectly. No worry about the cats clawing off a piece of glue and eating it.When it comes time to redo my cat trees I will be ordering this stuff again.

My cats have had the same couple of scratch posts for quite a few years now and one of them was already looking like it needed some major sprucing up. At first I was looking into getting a new one, but then I thought about it and decided that there was no need to spend money on a new one if the only thing wrong with this one was the sisal rope wearing out.So I found this one, bought it, and love it. What I love most about it is that it's not as rough as the original one the scratch post came with. It looks obvious that one section was replaced with a different rope, but I don't really care about that. I was not about to buy three packs to redo the whole thing. This DYI was pretty simple. My husband turned the scratch post while I wrapped the rope around it. We used some gorilla glue and a couple of nails. We used one nail for the beginning of it and the other for the end. We placed the nail right beside the rope, hammered it into the post, but left about a third to a quarter of an inch out so we could bend it over the rope and hammer it flat so the cats nails wouldn't get caught in them. It took no more than 10-15 minutes and voila, the projects done and we saved a good 50 bucks .

Smells like gasoline. Did not end up using it to rerope my cat trees as I was concerned about transfer to them.

This rope is good because it’s not too rough. I bought a different one and the texture was very rough and hurt to touch.

This product being 6mm is bigger and softer than the string used by the manufacturer. My husband and I did this together, he wound it on his lap while I held the string taught in front of him. No tools needed but a hot glue gone used to glue down the ends. We did not glue each strand, we felt that was a waist of time and glue.

Much of this rope came undone because it's not knotted at either end. it's not properly wound rope and as a result I would not recommend this rope. The quality of the rope I will say is great and that there are no loose strands or fuzziness to the rope itself but the fact that a lot of it came undone after I opened it from the package to me is just a sign of not greatly wound rope. Just cinch the ends! It's easy

My cat scratched the heck out of his perch and exposed the wood beneath the carpet covering. I couldn't find the same perch online or in the stores and he loves this particular one so much I had to save it somehow. It's actually the 2nd one because he did the same to the first a few years ago! I opted to wrap the damaged area with the sisal rope this time. It was easy to work with and I feel better knowing his paws are protected from splinters. It looks much better too. Plus it's much cheaper than buying a whole new perch anyway. I'm hoping it'll hold up to his abuse, we'll see!

Perfect savior for my cat's favorite Tower. Save me a lot of money and hassle of getting a new one. It is very sturdy and tough to withstand my cat's nails. The problem is the way it is delivered. Just like a bolt of yarn you have to disassemble to make it into a ball in order to manipulated to fix your cat tower. That's a lot of time and effort.
