Pulls rather than cut while cobming through my boys curly fur causing him much discomfort. The size is good and it seems to be made sturdy. Just won't cause him unnecessary pain.

Material wise, steel plus wood is always a better choice than plastic. Feels solid in hand. Works great on deshedding double coat.St

This tool does an outstanding job getting out the undercoat or just combing our dogsโ thick fur. It is easy to pull off the hair to clean it.

I recently purchased this comb for our senior cat, who doesn't groom himself as well as he used to. It's been a game-changer! The comb works perfectly without causing him any stress. As a long-haired cat, grooming can be a challenge, but this comb made it easy and quickly removed a lot of his under-fur. We've also used it on our dogs, and it works just as great for them too. Highly recommend!

Gets right down into our GSDโs thick coat. She isnโt itchy anymore and, as a result of regular brushing, has lost enough undercoat to where she doesnโt pant at room temp (and we keep the house chilly). Also, solidly made.PLUS the added benefit of not having to vacuum every night.

I have a long haired giant breed dog that I need to brush with an undercoat rake every week or it will be almost impossible to get through her thick undercoat. I have tried several different types of rakes and most are designed the same, one rake with thin teeth or a double sided rake with thin teeth on one side and further spacing on the teeth on the other side. What I like about this item is that it comes with the rake on one side and the de shedding tool on the other side so you can easily flip it which is important when you only have a few seconds before your dog tells you it is enough and doesn't want to be brushed anymore. I like the wooden handle on this item more than the plastic handles, it feels more secure in my hands. I also like that it is weighted so it is easy to use without having to reposition my grip several times to fully brush her coat. The only negative is that the de shedding tool sticks out so it is difficult to store or keep in a pocket so I can brush my dog on a walk which gives her enough of a distraction by smelling things outside where I can brush her. Not a huge issue, but it would be great if the de shedding portion could collapse when not in use.
