Initially I did not like the handle and was going to return. Amazon refunded when I asked to return. I ended up trying it more and I do like it. Took some getting used to. Would recommend for German Shepherds and such.

I purchased a few rakes and of course I had to return them until I found this one. Extremely affordable and my goodness does it pull out the undercoat. it’s a very very good rake to remove undercoats with ease. This is a must have for pet owners, and definitely for pet groomers.

This tool works really well on my English Springer Spaniels. Keeps the shedding down and the mats out of their coat. It’s very easy and comfortable to use.

I love this under coat groomer. It works great with my husky. It untangles without pulling. My dog loves it. It removes so much of the hair on my dog and leave him silky. I do recommend doing it outside because the hair comes off so easily off the rake.I recommend 100% for any long hair dog.

I have a cocker spaniel with a thick coat that gets matted very easily. Ordinary brushing doesn't help. This little gadget works like magic!

We have three aussies. Shedding is constant. This time of year (March/April spring) it gets even worse (awful!). Our old rake’s handle finally failed after many years so it was time for a new one. Chose this one (based on Thomi’s awesome comments - thank you). It works really well and is easy to hold. Very efficient getting undercoat out before (and after) bathing. I would definitely buy this again. Excellent!

I'm giving this tool 3 stars because of the positive reviews it has gotten. My three mutts all shed profusely all year round. At this time, my dogs hate this comb! I'm dragging it very lightly over their coat so as to avoid scratching their skin yet they still want to bolt.I was using a shedding blade for years and while it did get a good amount of hair off them, they didn't like the skin irritation the blade gave them. So I tried this comb based on the 5-star reviews hoping to get more hair and less irritation. It doesn't get as much hair off as the blade in a given motion, and I have to clean it frequently. My dogs hate the tool which is odd because if I run it across my arm, it won't scratch my skin like the blade does.I'm going to keep trying to see if they are just being uncomfortable with the change in "feel" of the comb. I really could use a good de-shedding tool for my Shepherd. When she blows her coat, and it seems as if that is a perpetual encounter, my house looks like the floor in a barber shop. I'll repost if I get a change in results.

I have a couple of Australian Cattle Dogs and one of them, my 11 year old girl, sheds like crazy. For years, I've tried to brush her out so that she wasn't constantly leaving hair everywhere but I never seemed to get it all. I would remove large amounts from her coat and still, anything that came in contact with her would be covered in her hair. It was so frustrating. I never thought to mention it to my vet but during her last annual physical, I mentioned that no matter what I tried and how much I brushed her, she never stopped shedding. My vet brought out a Master Grooming Tools Ergonomic Undercoat Pets Rake and told me that he'd had this particular tool for years and it was sturdy, easy to use (I have carpal tunnel syndrome and have a hard time holding some things) and did an excellent job. I groomed her while we were waiting for some test results and was amazed at how good it felt in my hand. She seemed to enjoy the grooming which is great because some of the tools I've tried made her uncomfortable because they either were too rough on her skin or pulled her hair. It raked right down through her undercoat and removed all of the loose hair. The best thing of all is that since using the Master Grooming Rake, her shedding is finally under control! There is no constant shedding and no hair everywhere now. I can't believe how effective this rake is and I am 100% happy with it. I also used it on my other cattle dog who didn't look like he had any loose hair and it came away with a good amount of hair. This is an excellent tool and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a rake that effectively removes loose undercoat hair, especially cattle dog owners!
