Works for me, as intended (when seated snugly onto bottom bracket covers), otherwise you’ll get slippage. Probably best done with tool facing up & frame secured to a wooded vice; if your having difficulty with fastening/removing it from the side/when bike is standing in normal form, on it’s tires.

I am annoyed that I need to buy yet another BB tool. That aside, I needed a BB tool for the occasional (maybe once a year) removal of my BB, and for this purpose this tool is good value for money. If I was going to use it more often, I would want something more durable as this tool is already showing signs of use after using it once.

Basic tool, thin material so good for occasional use but not in a bike shop. FYI does not fit center lock ring for SM-RT54 rotors (lock ring P/N Y24698030). Actual dimensions across the 16 teeth are OD= 43.1 ID= 39.4

Shimano uses different diameter spanners for BB's and lock rings without clearly explaining dimensions. Be careful what you order.

Fit perfect for my Shimano bottom bracket and functioned perfectly. Great value vs the “blue brand”. Build quality seems good for you’re home mechanic.

Far be it from my to figure out why BB manufacturers can't even pick a spline diameter and pattern for external cup BBs so you need multiple tools for what is essentially the same piece of hardware. But, suffice to say, this fits an Ultegra BBR60 perfectly. Considerably less expensive than the Shimano or Park equivalent and for a tool that you use maybe 3 times (see comment above regarding constant changes to BB specs) that fits the bill. The advantage of a tool with a square bit like this compared to a wrench-style is that you can attach to the torque wrench.

This is a simple tool that shouldn't cost a lot, so this item completely fit the need for tighten an Ultegra bottom bracket. Nice quality machining as well.
