STEP 1
Put the flange into the shower arm and wrap the Plumber’s tape at the interface.
STEP 2
Screw the shower arm into the wall. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks.
STEP 3
After running the water for one minute, screw in your shower head.Check again for water leaks.

You might need this one when the clearance is not enough on just a plain straight one. This extra rise is what I needed with my big wide square rain shower head. With the weight of the head using just a straight one it tends to bend down, reducing the clearance under the shower head.

Bought this after the remodelers didn't raise the shower head as we had asked, and now our tallest guests don't need to duck in the shower. Installed easily in a 2 inch diameter hole in the tile, might fit a slightly smaller hole, but our original hole was closer to 1 1/4 inch and needed to be drilled bigger.
