How to replace with new automotive sensor?

Kindly note that:

Like anything else, sensors wear out, corrode, or become dirty. This essentially blinds the computer and triggers the terrible check engine light. You can purchase or prepare a code reader and read your OBD codes, that will help you a lot on installation.

Either way, you should always consult a repair manual before attempting any procedure involving automotive sensors. If you’re servicing a vehicle built before 1996, you'll need a code reader that reads OBD I information. Post 1996, you'll need a code reader capable of OBD II diagnostics.

1) Always wear eye protection and start with installation tools.
2) Searching related installation video on the internet will be recommended.

Like many folks who’ve bought the sensor + gauge combo that aem sells, my sensor went bad after only like a year of use. This works seamlessly with the gauge that comes in that kit and is basically half as much as the aem version. Will update this review after a few months/year to see if it outlasts the proper sensor.

I have an Acura RSX Type-S, and I wanted to get oil pressure data from the engine and pass it to my K-Pro ECU. This sensor was what I chose to measure this. The cable pigtail was actually really nice, so I don't feel weird putting it in a place that might get wet. The sensor read oil pressure great! I ordered a second one to use for coolant system pressure readings. My application is different because I'm sending the analog sensor data to the ECU instead of a physical guage. It worked great for this. It's reasonably priced and did what I needed it to do.The other guys are correct:Red = +5V (to Sensor 5V Voltage Source on ECU)Black = Ground (to Sensor Ground on ECU)Green = Analog Signal (to K-Pro Analog Input)

Well built overall. The cable is durable and shielded. Some reviews complain about accuracy, but the trick is to calibrate, which you can’t do in an OEM environment. I have a few of these and the voltage at rest (no pressure) and the voltage with max pressure vary between them all. You need to compensate for the difference in your code. Non of mine read 5V at 150psi +, so naturally the accuracy can go from +/- .5psi to +/- 15psi

Used this product to replace my defective ProEFI Oil and Fuel pressure sensors used on my 1994 Supra 2JZ-GTE using a ProEFI engine management system. The ProEFI 150 psi sensor replacement from a performance shop is 3 times the cost and have had 2 failures in the past. The Autex specs matched the ProEFI and I did not have to modify calibration settings after replacement. Awesome. Going to buy another sensor for a spare.

The 0-150 psi transducer on my Autometer oil pressure gauge stopped working after about 3 years. The replacement transducer from Autometer is over $150. I figured I would give this much cheaper version a try, and if it didn't work, not much money wasted. I installed it and it works fine. Pictures show the gauge I'm using and the original Autometer transducer I replaced with the Autex one. As I'm writing this review the day after installing it, no word on durability yet.**UPDATE 19-Dec-2022**This replacement sensor is still working fine for me after nearly 1 year of being installed. I also agree with the other review - follow the wiring guide printed on the sensor - NOT the one listed above in the instructions. BLACK = GROUND, RED = 5V POWER, GREEN = PRESSURE SIGNAL.

Dead on arrival. No readings at all, wiring from Amazon description is wrong. Tried their way, because why not. Still nothing. Tested resistance.

Great item, but must calibrate it correctly. Linear scale 0.5V - 4.5V which is 0 psi - 150psi. Also comes with a connector pigtail if needed. I verified it to be within +,- 1psi with a liquid gauge. Would buy again.

This is a very nice quality sensor. The issue I ran into was the clip on the pigtail broke IMMEDIATELY. The pigtail itself it large, bulky, and low quality plastic. I removed it from the package, plugged the two together and the clip broke when connecting them. Luckily they have a very tight fit and the silicon seal gives a bit of a friction fit. I'm hoping it will stay connected for my application. It would be nice if I could find a replacement pigtail although this doesn't seem like a standard plug I have seen before.
