My wife and I use these mats to keep our dogs from accessing carpets in several rooms where they would formerly go to the bathroom. They are quite effective.

I got this to put in my front yard so pos neighbors dogs stop peeing in my lawn and plants. Just pop these down in strips in-between rocks or grass or whatever u can make it work.Super strong spikes, basically anything steps on these and they will never go near it again. Extremely strong spikes, pointy, can be cut in strips or whatever shape u want. Clear is the way to go. Only difference from photos is the pics make them seem super far apart but not even a marble could take up the space between spikes and they have smaller spikes in-between the big ones so. Nothingness getting past this.

These are rather shockingly sharp, but the cat tried to get on the table once with them on and hasn't since. He didn't seem to be injured or anything, but it's definitely not fun to walk on. They are definitely durable, and the most cost-effective solution I have found to keep the cat off the table.I'm hoping we won't need to use them forever because they're kind of annoying, but we'll definitely keep them around to bring out as needed. I love my cat and will make sure he has alternative high places to sit and explore, but I'm glad to not have his dirty little paws where we eat or his tongue in our water glasses!

The spikes work in theory, unless your cats are like mine and decided to just carefully walk across the spikes. They only deterred the cats for 24 hours

I'm using these mats to lay on the ground under a bird feeder in a shady spot to keep my dog away. She likes to eat spilled bird seed, but these mats definitely prevent her from stepping into the area. It's unattractive, but it works 100%. They stay flat on the ground even when we've had rough, crazy thunderstorms. I've had the mats for about two months in this shady area, and so far, they've held up. No cracking at all even though I've accidentally stepped on some of them a few times, and the little points were not flattened. I do wish the mats were made a little thicker or made with a more durable plastic. They crunch when you step on them, like stepping on a plastic water bottle, but they're also very flexible so you could wrap them around a pole. I do wonder though, how they'd last in a direct sun location where the heat index is very high. I live near the coast of South Carolina where it's sub-tropical heat in the summer.

CAUTION! The spikes are VERY sharp and not very flexible. Maybe OK to prevent walking onto a surface, but if used where a cat might jump up onto the mat, the cat might very well be injured. I returned it immediately! AWFUL product.
