I purchased these to replace my old hose valves. And sure enough, one by one my old ones failed because of our NM intense sunlight is devastating on plastic. I put one of these on a hose and next day, it started leaking when shut off. Turned on and off couple times and finally sealed. Great! Till next day, but could not get it to shut off totally. So I replaced it with another. It works. Still. Today, my wife told me another very old valve started leaking because it split. (Note: all my old valves are at least 2 yrs old). So I grabbed one of these new valves and turned water on. Started leaking immediately. Let me state something here, our garden hoses are on a gravity flow water supply so pressure is not over 15 psi. Not 40-60 psi like a normal household pressure). So I went back and got another valve. Same thing, leaked. I went back on brought the whole bag and tried each valve (12 units in the bag) Remember, the first valve failed and I pitched it and used the second one.Basically, right out of the bag, out of 12 valves, 8 worked and four failed. One failed the second day. So 7 work and 5 failed. Not sure how long they will last. These do not even compare to my old ones as they are years old. This kind of failure right out of the bag with 10-15 psi is not very good.I will give an update if these new ones fail within a couple months. If you need a valve, better order by the bag because to the failure of the new ones!!!

Cross threading with the hose is impossible to avoid. Leave it on, or put it on a quick connect.Once on it works great.

they work well and I have more in this pack than I have hoses so I'll be putting some away for future needs.

Do not hesitate to buy these. They are awesome. My yard is over an acre in size and I need a lot of hoses and waves. They work better than brass as they are easy to turn off an on whereas I struggle with quite a few of the brass ones.

They work well enough. However, so far two of them developed slow leaks from the valve. Still the price is very reasonable.

i bought a 12-pack in 2021 and am buying another 12 in 2024. about 4 of 12 snapped -- the male end -- snapped when the garden hose was pulled a little to hard or these valves were tweaked in some way. the others are still working. these are fantastic couplings between the metal parts of a hose (hose to hose or hose to bibb). as a plastic coupling, it prevents a garden hose from 'fusing' to a hose bibb. and that makes the nominal cost worth it.

Tested out few water cutoff valves and all worked perfectly with zero leakages. This water cutoff valve is very useful. I have three 75 ft hoses that sometimes are connected together and before using the cutoff valve I would have to walk upto 225 ft to access the water tap to turn off the water, then walk back to swap out the spray nozzle for a rain wand or a sprinkler, then walk back to turn the water back on, and finally walk back to water the intended area. That's almost 1000 ft of walking!! With the cut off valve, I can do all of that on the spot, and not having to walk that much on a hot sunny day is worth the very affordable price. Highly recommend!

I bought these shutoffs as a gamble. I needed a lot of small plastic connectors to separate dissimilar metals in my hose hookups. I have lost several nozzles and quickconnects because they fused together. Plus having shutoffs everywhere just adds flexibility. This review is based on using three of them so far. They seem solid and sturdy enough for screwing into metal. The shutoff mechanism was smooth but not too difficult. It did have enough friction to maintain its position when set. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the ball valve is full opening. There is no restriction. Also it does hold fully off with no leakage. Only gripe would be that the female end is fixed and does not swivel. That said, I feel that eliminates a potential leaking point. Even if these things only last one season I would still feel they are a great deal for $10.

I have lots of hoses on the farm, and have tried about every type of hose-end valve... all-brass, zinc, plastic. I figured that these would at least work decent enough and be cheap enough to be throw-away when they fail. So far, after a few months of heavy use on many hoses, none have failed or leaked. Plus the lever is smooth and easy to flip on/off with one finger while holding the hose. I got very tired of the expensive all-brass heavy ones, that all end up leaking or binding, and then you have to rebuild them, and many of them have failed to the point that they can't be fixed. These just do what they're supposed to... easily shut off the water, and when one eventually fails, you replace it. Plus, these are all plastic, so no corrosion issues, and having to grab the penetrating oil and pipe wrench to get the cheap metal ones off after they "weld" themselves to the hose fitting. So far I haven't broken any of the plastic levers when the hose gets dropped and hits a rock or concrete the wrong way, but I've had the all-brass ones break off too if they hit just right. I'm ordering another set of them. Pulling an all-brass valve off a hose that was leaking today just reminded me to order some more and write a review for these.

A leaky hose bib was beyond annoying. Decided to buy a high-end brass version of this same product for about double the price of this package and read a review that reminded me:1. They all eventually leak.2. Mixing various bib and valve metals never works.3. They are all made in China anyway so why expend any more money than necessary since the quality in each will be variable but all will leak.It was a brilliant reminder and one which I instantly took to heart and made a very prompt decision and finalized my order.Placed the closed valve on the bib and voila! No more leak. Now, I am in full acceptance this will not last. At some point in time it will leak. The nice part is I have 11 more to pull from when it does.So far, worked like a charm and I can't ask for anything else.

I manage the garden bed and lawn watering for my whole condominium complex which is about 3 acres of property and there are faucets and timers and hoses all the heck over the place. For years now I've been buying a handful of the brass valves pretty much every spring to replace ones that have started to leak or got damaged the year before. More and more, I found the quality of the brass ones just went down hill and the price went up. In recent years, the brass ones sometimes only lasted a single season. So, since the brass valves had become somewhat disposable, I figured if I even just got 6-8 decent ones that lasted even just a single season, I was doing okay.Well, I'm not sure that I even got a single bad one in the bunch. And with some to spare I increased convenience in the setup by throwing them in where I had never had them in the past. Not one crapped out over the summer. And with a "heat dome" and two other heat waves and a season of drought, they saw a lot of use. I was pleasantly surprised!
