I tried the former version of these crampons. They fell apart, losing spikes continuously. These upgraded ones are better made, stay on & no spikes have fallen off. Very pleased

Sounded like a good idea but when I installed them on my boots the velcro boot strap broke when I pulled them tight, so I never got to use them.

The crampons fit well. I learned to put them on my boot before putting my boot on. Just alot easier. The major shortcoming for using them here in Colorado is that the vast majority of hiking in snow is in the mountains. These crampons worked fine until i hike up hill or on a side hill. They tended to slip sideways or forward almost off my boot. I increased the tightness of the straps 3 times, but the result was the same. On a side hill they tend to slide sideways on your boot bottom.

Favorite part about these: they stay on your shoe. I've had others without the velcro strap and they easily came off the boot. These never came off while hiking. They did slide a bit in the front so that the spikes were kind of coming off the shoe but we made do. We used them for 4 days straight on a trip to the Canadian Rockies. Even just walking in every day snow we felt more safe and less likely to slip. Went to Johnston Canyon and were practically running up and down icy/snowy trails while others slipped and slid.Least favorite part: when hiking too long or in sticky snow/ice, the snow clumps inside the circle of the ice cleat. I've seen others that are just pointed triangles and I can imagine those would not get snow stuck inside the perimeter as easily.

Perfect for winter dog walks on snowy trails.I feel more secure walking on the ice and snow. I use them over my blundstones exclusively. The ankle strap is adjustable. I wear womens size 9. I do find they slip around on the toe of the boot a little, if you had a larger shoe this would not be an issue. I may have to adjust them once every 30-40 minutes of walking.Have used them for two winters now, definitely got my money's worth.
