Too many loosened up and did not hold the needle. Beginning felters probably have uneven pressure but the holder should not loosen so much the needle falls out.

These needle holders are a good size and are comfortable to use. They hold needles well, and relieve some of the discomfort of poking. I was gifted a homemade kit by a friend this winter and am really enjoying felting, but was having to stop when my hand would get a little irritated, these solved that issue!
