Great product and perfect size for making my ornaments. Price was reasonable. Bought a second one for a backup!

Looking forward to using this. It’s made entirely of thick wool layers. My old one is just a thin a layer of wool wrapped around some styrofoam. So my current one is really dented in and misshapen. It seems like this one will last a long time and keep its shape better.

I love this mat. I had previously been using synthetic foam, but this wool mat is 100X better.

I LOVE this felting mat!!!!! I had a foam one and it got used up so quickly, that I was stabbing myself repeatedly. I hated it. I don't have that issue now that I got this felting mat. It is so thick, so durable, so sturdy. It really takes a poking and doesn't stop! It is perfect. if you felt, buy this. seriously. do it.

But it’s rather hard, takes some getting used to.

So much better than the piece of foam that comes with kits. This is a solid purchase and just right for small felting projects

Looks like a nice new set for me. I needed new needles and a pad. Came fast. Packaged well.

I use it for felting. I also use it as a tiny ironing mat. Sometimes I don’t have much space and it allows me to press small pieces of fabric when I don’t need a large mat.

I got one of these before on Amazon, but it smelled like poop. I was hoping the smell would go away after a while, however, it simply didn't. I ended up having to chuck it. This one, however, I can tell that the wool has been washed, since there is a faint smell of soap. These are great for those who needle felt figures and objects. However, I could see it being a problem if you do a lot of flat felting. For that, you're probably better off using a brush to felt on instead.I'll update this if this mat starts to stink, however, it seems unlikely.

Only issue is the wool tends to bind to the felting service which makes it hard to clean between projects.

I got a brush mat at the same time I got this one and I prefer the brush mat, but I didn't want to remove a star, since that is comparing different products. I actually end up putting the brush mat on this mat to add protection to my work space, which I like. There are more expensive mats, and this is the only mat I've ever used, so maybe other felt mats are better, but I'm not sure how that would be. The reason I prefer the brush is that for felting 2-D pictures the needle runs into so much resistance hitting the felt mat, so rapid stabbing is harder and needle breaking easier. But maybe I'm doing it all wrong! I'm fairly new to felting. Long story short, this was a large size mat for a good price and seems like a solid product.
