A kit that has everything you need to get started minus the wool. The felting pad is large and thick. The needles come in 3 different gauges and there are pins to hold things in place. I use needle felting on my crochet work and have been wanting extra needles and this kit is wonderful for adding to your collection or if your just starting out. I actually like this pad better than the one I had so I'll be using it instead. I also like that it comes with 3 different handles. A one needle for general use, a three needle which I use the most, and an eight needle that I guess is good for large surfaces. I don't use that many at all but I guess you could use less needles if you wanted to. I like this kit a lot.

I’m brand new at this craft and wanted to order a comprehensive set to get me started. This set came well packaged, was a great price point with all the necessities for what’s included, and best of all is great quality. The felt pad is something not really any other brands were including for this price point and it feels thick and well made. I was really looking for a wool pad like this one that could be left out and look nice with my other natural material crafting supplies. It also really is a great size that covers a range of beginner projects. It’s not cumbersome when doing something small but also could handle pretty big ornament/ figurine projects too. This is nice considering I was looking at buying a different brand at a higher price for several different sizes not included in a kit. The handles feel like a nice wood and so far have withstood my poor poking form lol. I’ve broken my first three needles (of my own fault) and so I am glad I have the vials of extras. The finger cots I received were white/ beige, which is actually what I was really hoping for but just know what you receive may differ than what you see in the listing. And let me tell you they have been WELL tested. Just take my word for it, they WILL protect your fingers from violence. In addition to all of this, they also included a pamphlet that covers some of the basics of needle felting and what all the different sized needles and handles can be used for this was actually a great reference since I kindof just bought the variety thinking maybe I’d need them but not sure exactly for what. I definitely recommend, especially for a beginner but I feel the quality especially for the price is computable to other established brands.

This is a very robust needle felting set - it includes three different types of holder - single, triple and 8 needle tools so you have something that works great both for building up a background or bulk of a piece down to fine details.There are a very generous pack of three gauges of needles - you may think you won't need nearly so many but if you actually get into needle felting you'll find yourself breaking them occasionally as you work and the tooth wearing down during a large project.I have never actually seen the leather finger guards before but they are a GREAT idea. I've stabbed myself on every project I've done at least once and putting these on the thumb and forefinger of your non-dominant hand makes doing 3D shapes much less hazardous.The felting mat for this set is very dense which I have mixed feelings about - I've always used a soft foam mat before and the feel is quite different and I found myself wanting to stab harder to get a full stroke of the felting needle. That said, the felted designs pulled away from this mat a lot cleaner than they usually do on my softer mat so I can absolutely see using both depending on where in the project process I was.The only thing this is missing is the wool itself, but what you will want/need for that will depend a lot on the project you are wanting to make. There's no instructions either so this might be a good set to get or gift alongside another project kit or book on felting if it's for a complete beginner.Very impressed with this set of tools overall and it's a great value if you're interested in trying needle felting.

I have some beginner supplies for needle felting, but when I saw this, I knew it would be an improvement to the needle felting tools that come in the kits. I’m so glad I got this. The pad is thick and it’s nice to have options for different numbers of needles.

It's very nice quality stuff as far as the holders for the needles and the needles themselves. The holders are built really nicely so you unscrew it to put the needles in place, and then screw it back in place. This makes that so much more secure. The holders for 8 and 3 needles have the screw. The holders for one needle is the standard type, but is still very secure.The felting pad is a lot different than the felting pads I'm used to. It's kind of covered with a thick felt. It's very nice.I have no idea what the pins are for or why they are included. There are no instructions included, which is fine in general as this really isn't a beginner thing, but it would be nice to understand how they think the pins are to be used. They aren't sharp enough to go through the pad, so it isn't like they are meant to hold the wool in place while felting it.The set is pretty nice, other than not understanding why there are pins.
