I bought this not really knowing what it would do the the PSI for my irrigation but wanted to be safe. Big, expensive mistake. The upstream pressure in my pipes is at 65 PSI measured at a hose bib, right before this device. The downstream pressure is 40 PSI measured at another hose bib right after the device. It's possible folks here understand that and just fail to mention that huge drop-off, but I'm struggling with what scenario this would be ok.In my case, I'll cut it out and go with something else. It's messing up my irrigation pretty badly.

Purchased this to replace our very old backflow device. I had to find some fittings to get it to fit our setup but once I did it worked like a charm. It also passed it's first backflow test with ease. Only time will tell how well it lasts but so far so good.

I've had two destroyed or stolen for the copper. This one has no copper, and has been left alone.

Just got this today and installed it very quickly. Is working like a charm. Very excited to have one that I can "snap out" for the winter w/o the threat of freezing and blowing out a $250 part like before with the Wilkins 975XL, every year...no matter how well you drained it.I did have to run to Home Depot and buy a 1" nipple and 1" coupler in order to attach to the existing male threads on both pipes coming out of the ground on both sides of it. There is no other way to easily screw in both ends in different directions at the same time. The coupler takes care of that. However it is 2 female ends, so you need the 1" nipple. If you are replacing your 975XL with this one, the added 1" coupler and 1" nipple are perfect to make up the about 2" of space that will be there because the 375xl is slightly shorter (when attached).Install was a breeze. Just used a good double to triple wrap of white plumbing tape on all male threads. Pipe wrench. Done. For some reason, the box (at least mine) does not come with any installation instructions. I wanted to be sure i pressurized it and set it up right on the first try.I found this online install doc helpful.http://backflow-supply.com/backflowcd/pdffiles/Wilkins/Reduced%20Pressure/IS375-114-2.pdf
