Was better build quality than anticipated. Nice plastic mold and actually metal for the case and front/back panels. Only slight negative is the front and back panels bow out when you tighten the screws, indicating the screw holes are probably a little too close together.

I used this to house a DIY 300 watt amplifier, consisting of an amplifier module and a separate power supply. This was one of the only relatively lower priced boxes I could find that would fit both devices with room to spare. This was no flimsy box. It is VERY well made. I used a drill to create a big enough hole and then used a nipper to create a rectangular hole for the Speakon outputs. It took a while for my drills to drill the various holes I needed as the material was pretty thick. If I need another project box, I would certainly look for one, if not this one, but another one made by the same company.Like most things these days, I found the box to be WAY over-priced, but there are no bargains to be found anymore when you are looking for similar boxes.

For my projects typically electronics equipment; the available build sizes are somewhat limited thus the recommendation is to consider doing a mock layout of all the components on the desired foot print.I think if they simply designed standard "Base: Length (12") 30cm X Width (10" or 12") 25.4-30 cm.Effective height most desirable would be about would be min. Height (6" - 7")16 cm - 20 cm.This would allow flexibility for midsize transformer, cooling fans, and or PCB Heatsinks, including accessory boards. The carry handle is nice but perhaps the design requires too handles. The other mention that may improve functionality is improved selection options for ventilation panels either "two sides", or Single side vented panel ; "top or bottom"!

Overall, nice project enclosure case. Sheet metal is thick enough to be sturdy but thin enough so you can make holes for mounting switches, etc.I grounded one panel and assumed the ground would carry around to all panels. This is not the case. I am going to have to find a way to ground all panels to prevent floating ground electrical shock.Hopefully all I have to do is remove some of the paint around the screws for the top, side, and bottom panel and run a ground jumper to the front and rear panels.Overall, nice enclosure for my project.

For the price I'm amazed at the overall quality of the enclosure in its fit, finish, and appearance. It arrived with some shipping and/or handling scratches on the plastic frame but they're not that obvious. Note that this enclosure is not fully electrically shielded as the front, back, and bottom panels are isolated.

While you probably shouldn't stand on it, it seems quite sturdy. This makes an attractive box for projects. Both panels come off as does the cover for easy internal access. I replace the panels with inexpensive custom JLPCB PC boards to provide professional mounting holes and silk screening.

This case is not very expensive, but it's an awesome little case. Extremely well made, with interior metal frame for strength and metal painted panels on all sides. This is also the correct case for the Z80-Kits "Front Panel & Back Panel" Kits that go with the "Blue Box Project" for the RC2014 Z80 computer kits. (bought from the UK).My RC2014 Blue Box is almost complete - back panel is on and front panel is nearly complete. Great way to display a small retro computer system.

I really like the box but the dimensions given are inaccurate. The dimensions shown are from the plastic front and back frame but even that is showing more than thereal dimensions measured on the enclosure. The front and back panels are really thin but usable. The look and finish are great.Be careful if you intend to install equipment inside the enclosure, count on 195mm x 185mm x 125mm inside dimensions.Overall a great buy and a good price.Edit:When I started installing my system in the enclosure I realized how modular it is and how well it has been designed. It can be entirely taken apart which makes it easy to machine the needed cuts and drilling.

This case fit my needs perfectly. The seller has a wide assortment of sizes and shapes. I made a template for what all I wanted to put in the case and chose the one that suited my needs. The cases are made out of 20 Gauge aluminum (0.812 mm or.03196”). The aluminum is thick enough to be sturdy but also thin enough that you can make cut-outs in it without much difficulty. I used a tool called a nibbler and a file for the fine work. The case has two reinforcement pieces of angle iron (probably not iron but I am not sure what it is) that go from the front to the back at the top of the case. This probably adds to the sturdiness of the case – great idea.I have just a few cautions, and this is no way meant to denigrate the case. The case is great! There is an old adage that says “measure twice – cut once”. I modified it to “measure twice, mark guide lines, measure guide lines, measure the device you are making the cut-out for and verify the guide lines are correct, then cut the metal”. I have to admit I didn’t follow this to a tee on the first case I bought. I ruined the front panel. I have been working on this project for quite a while and wanted it to look good so I bought another case. They are reasonably priced so the replacement case was not a significant hit to my budget. I did buy a piece of sheet metal from Lowes and a can of spray paint (Gloss Sail Blue Spray Paint) . Both items together were less than $10. The sheet metal from Lowes was big enough make several panels. I have also used Gloss Burgundy Spray Paint for the front panel of a power supply I built. See Pictures.I have completed a couple other projects using various case sizes. The cases can hold a surprising number of components. The seller has excellent customer service! I asked a question on-line and got an answer the next day. Also, they ship very quickly.
