Works exactly like the OEM Toyota spec tool for clamping, and does just as good of a job.Remember to grease the threads and take your time, and your boots will be back on in no time. Recommend using the Toyota kit if you're regreasing and booting. Has everything you need per axle for about ~40$.

This tool is a clone of the Toyota tool 09521-24010 The Toyota tool (made by OTC) is approximately $200 (There are counterfeits claiming to be real Toyota on eBay for less but they’re not legit) At the time of review the ZKTOOL was priced under $20. Prior to use I oiled where the crimper jaws slide in the housing and greased the threads of the bolt. I rebuilt my car cv axle today with an OEM Toyota boot kit, which used 5 oetiker style clamps. The resulting crimps looked very much like the original equipment that I removed. I did use a pair of plier type crimpers to barely start the crimps without using much force just to seat the clamp where I wanted, then used the ZKTool to finish. I used a wrench to hold the body of the tool from turning and a ratchet wrench to turn the bolt. For someone only doing occasional jobs of this type, it seems like it’s perfect. Although I had no problems at all with the tool and it showed no wear after using, in a high volume car repair shop setting seeing multiple uses weekly I would probably opt for the professional tool as I’m not sure how this would hold up in the long run.

I repaired a 2007 CV Axel using the Toyota CV Axel boot kit on our Camry. I have a couple of other tools but there's no way I could've gotten the clamps tight enough (I tried). Don't try a CV Boot replacement job without this. This tool helped me tighten the clamps so good I didn't have to worry about the grease leaking out. I drove the car across the state the same day and checked it out to see that this tool did it's job perfectly. I'm even going to use this tool instead of my other hand tools where I have room for it when doing my other jobs on my Chevy's. Highly recommended.

rebuilt GX 470 CV axles, requiring crimp clamps on 6 of 8 sides . this gives you the confidence to go tight enough but not overtighten and mangle the clamp. I have the other style (pliers) but this really takes the thinking out of it with an 8mm socket wrench in hand
