I have a great Bose speaker I bought in in the mid-2000s. The sound is great, the footprint is minimal and I have no desire to replace it with a cheap, color-changing modern speaker. It came with a 13-pin connector for my iPhone (4? 5?) that became useless when Apple came out with the lightning connector. I got by with an adapter for a few years, now the adaptor is obsolete.I confess, I had faint hopes for the ZIOCOM Bluetooth Adapter - so many new gadgets are glitchy, hard to install or poorly manufactured. I was amazed and so pleased to see that this bluetooth adapter went from box to working perfectly on my speaker in about 20 seconds. Such a great product!

Used this on an old Bose speaker iPod dock I had in my garage and it has decent range, I can walk to the end of my driveway and still play music. Also able to use it for Bluetooth in my car utilizing the aux port and an old iPod charger to power it. Automatically connects as soon as I start the car.

Works great! Connected instantly. No lag in sound from wired speaker.Using it to place an additional center channel speaker (on a Bose surround sound connected to our TV) closer to where we sit in a “YUGE” family room. Couldn’t be happier

Did not know that they made something like this. I was surprised at the ease of just plug and play for a small price, and it works great. Now the old Bose is usable again without an iPod. If you own and old Bose sound stage this brings it into the bluetooth age.

This adapter plays nicely it two ways. First, it sounds good when compared to a CD of the same music, at least when the music system and the listener (me) are both reduced in high frequency sensitivity. It also plays nicely with other bluetooth adapters. When it is unpaired from my iPhone, it does not force a repairing. This may seem like little to ask, but I've recently bought a bluetooth music adapter that does not play nice, and actually prevented me from connecting to other music adaptors.I found the adapter to have one other good feature. It can pair with two other devices at the same time, in my case a Mac and an iPhone. Thus I can play music from either phone or computer without having to unpair from either.I found the adapter to have one bad feature. The adapter goes to sleep if it is not paired to any device at all, and has to be turned back on to repair. I would think that the power required to leave the adapter running would be too small to warrant a sleep mode, do I don't understand this design choice. I get around this by leaving the adapter paired with my Mac when I leave the house with my iPhone. So all in all, I would recommend this adapter if you have a music device with a male 30 pin old-style iPod or iPhone connector. I've used it in an iHome iPod dock. I've also used it in an Apple iPod dock, but I had to plug the 3 mm mini audio plug directly into the jack of the adapter instead of plugging into the dock -- no big deal, really. In fact, I would recommend this adapter to anyone who wants to hook up an old stereo. All one would need would be a 30 pin iPod or iPhone USB charging cable and a 3.5 mm mini audio cable that splits into RCA plugs.I had no trouble maintaining pairing as long as the adapter and my iPhone were in the same room. My thought about the most troublesome aspect of bluetooth devices, which is random disconnections or glitches, is that there are many other devices that emit in the same frequency band, and which might cause interference. So performance of this device in your home may vary from the experience I have had.
