I had alot of peeling paint, after removing the easily removable stuff. I did two coats and it was also just thick enough that it wasn't noticeable where paint levels were lower. It is a little expensive but it will save you alot of prep having to sand everything back.Would recommend this product.

I used this a year ago to paint old peeling painted 2x4s in my screen room. The wood is 20 years old and the latex paint had peeled and flaked everywhere. After scraping, sanding and hosing down the wood, I let it dry and used PEEL STOP. It looked great then and a year later, still looks freshly painted!

I used it for outside Heat Pump before painting, and then used on chevrolet car emblems, before painting gold - looks terrific. This stuff is triple thick for a better hold. Use it as a primer - 1 coat, then wait about 3 days or more to apply your paint. I find that Zinsser is quality - anything I've bought from this brand has been great. Amazon was quick with delivery, and at a fair price. Kept me from going "here and there" to find what I wanted. One store didn't have any, and another store only had it in the large gallon size.

I used the product two different ways, with a sprayer and a brush. I would day brush is the best way to go. However there is a difference in color saturation difference between the videos and actual product. It needs a few coats and is more clear than white. So unless you rock a lot of coats, it will need actual paint over it.

Zinnser always has the best stuff for painters. Peel stop has never let me down, I use it often always have a gallon handy. The problem I have is don't order from Amazon because they never seen to get this particular delivery correct.

Very Thin....It works ok as a primer , but if your looking for something thick to cover imperfections , I would look for something else .

My house is 124 years old and my front door has layers of chipped paint that even sanding & stripping would not remove. Since it needed a lot of repair work with wood putty & sanding to even it out to a smooth finish, I was afraid of the putty chipping off. I applied a layer of this primer, before and after using the wood putty and then added 2 coats of paint and the door looks brand new. It’s not a solid white color, but more of a milky white so it will not replace a coat of paint but will help to bind the paint for a smoother finish. It does fill in small imperfections but the primer alone will not fill deep uneven places. This primer dries really fast & works much better than just a paint that has primer included, especially for filling in small imperfections. My door would’ve looked great with just one coat of paint after using this primer, but I did 2 coats because my door gets a lot of sun.

I still had to scrape old paint, but I am hoping that by using this product, the edges of old paint will be sealed so that new paint won’t cause the old paint to lift up. It seemed to work well. I guess I won’t know for sure until after a hot summer, rainy season, and winter.

This stuff is great! I love doing projects, but I despise sanding and stripping paint. I wasn’t sure this would work due to mixed reviews. I coated this swing with this paint about four times. The paint is sheer, I would only use this as a primer. The thickness seemed like typical paint to me. For my project it did fill some of the smaller holes and dents on this swing, but for deeper gauges it didn’t fill them at all. Nothing a little wood filler couldn’t help. This worked perfectly for the peeling paint though! I was skeptical, but it made this very smooth! If you’re looking for something that will make it “perfect” this isn’t it, but for something that will stop peeling it is fabulous! Once a top coat of paint is added you can’t even tell that it ever had peeling paint underneath it. This is going to be a go to for future projects.
