I misread the product description. I thought it said a remote control was included. I actually did say the remote was not included. My mistake. The product without a remote control is much less useful than it could be.

I have put this VCR away for use in the future. It's next to impossible to find new VCR's these days.I actually have the same VCR which I have been using for a few years. It's easy to use - I have had no problems with it.

As of this moment, I have a collection of hard to find new, or almost hard to find rebuilt VCR's. These Zeniths will replace similar Zenith units which joined others in VCR heaven. Delivery time was just fine.

This VCR lasted almost a year but just broke. It now plays sound but no picture during video playback. Setup and programming was very easy. I liked how it could remember up to 8 different programs. If I taped a TV show using SP speed, the picture during playback was very good. (I also recorded some home movies using SP speed and they turned out well.) If I used the SLP speed, the picture playback was horrible, much worse than my old Sony (which I had for 12 years and loved until it finally died). It had no index search feature like my old Sony which was inconvenient. I never used the commercial skip feature; I just fast forwarded through commercials on my own. For some reason, if it was recording a show, I couldn't figure out how to watch my TV seperately. (It wouldn't let the antennae signal through to the TV.) In the past couple of months, it started having a hard time rewinding tapes (even new ones) and didn't record well at the beginning of a tape so the motor was going. Isn't anything built to last anymore? I'm buying a Sony with a two-year replacement plan because nothing is built to last these days. Sigh...

A very good VCR. Easy to program and fully compatible with other Zenith products. Loaded with lots of good features. This unit replacing a similar Zenith model owned for about 5 yrs. that has given use service free operation. A very good value for the money.

This Zenith VCR does everything it was supposed to do and I have no complaints. It plays commercially recorded tapes, it plays tapes recorded on other machines and on this machine. It's not state of the art and doesn't have all the bells and whistles...but it only costs 50 bucks for Pete's sake! I'm happy with it.
