Very nice grinder with multiple coarseness settings. Feels solid in the hand and its easy to refill. Quality German components that create a uniform output with not a lot of effort. Easy to control the amount you put on your food. Yes it's definitely more expensive than most but in this case it's obvious you get what you pay for.

Grinds well, and I like the ability to choose the coarseness of the grind. The mill is smooth and feels nice in the hand. I wish the stain was a little lighter, but it works well and I am very happy with my purchase.

High quality and classic good looks. I also purchased a pepper mill made by Zassenhaus. For the Amazon folks - UPS delivered it to the wrong house, but the neighbor walked it over. I saw no where to report the mistake either on the UPS website or here at Amazon.

Well made, a pleasure to use. It's so nice to use a well constructed product in these modern days of shoddy everything.

Replacement for one I lost in a move. Would like to have a handle crank like the pepper grinder but couldn't find one. It works great, though.

We had a cheap plastic salt grinder that we bought at the local mart store. It would grind only on fine and salt was all over the counter when we put it down. We have not had a problem with this and enjoy using it. We have no problem adjusting the grind. The countertop is clean where we put it down. We did buy the short one - I should have used a ruler to measure our pepper mill which is about 3 times taller! The finish is attractive. I do read reviews of products and this one seemed to fit us best even though it was more costly than some others that got good reviews. We are so far quite pleased with this salt grinder.

This is by far the best salt grinder I've ever used. The grinding blades are strong, you get a decent amount of salt from each twist, unlike other salt grinders I've had. I use a very course himalayan pink salt, which is no problem for this little workhorse. The grip is good, and the finish is attractive and well made. I've only had this workhorse for a few months, but I use it almost daily. From the feel and performance so far, I think it will last for a long, long time. Now for the minor drawbacks. The top piece is a little difficult to get off -- wood hole is a little tight around the center spindle, so you have to kind of giggle it off. Second drawback is related to size: it only holds about one tablespoon of course-cut salt. As a result, I fill it every couple weeks. If I'm cooking family size from a recipe, I fill it more often. All in all, the superior features of this product far outweigh the drawbacks and I like the old fashion look of carved wood. It's a little expensive for a salt grinder, but it's definitely worth the spend.

This is a solid, classic looking salt grinder. Pricy but it will go for a long time. We have had the matching pepper girder for 7-8 years and were thrilled to find the matching salt grinder on amazon. Highly recommended.
