This is a great kit for beginners! It’s complete and has everything you need to tie pretty much any fly you want. Admittedly, there are more refined, higher quality, and very expensive tools. These are a little rough. But I’ve had many hours of enjoyment tying flies with this set and expect many more.It is packaged very nicely and will make a great gift.IF I decide to invest in an upgrade clamp or other item(s), this will become my travel set.This is a great investment. I am so glad I purchased it.

I'm very satisfied with the tool kit. The box is nice and is actually heavy enough to use it as a portable lap desk for tying flys anywhere in the house. The vise is awesome. I've been putting it to good use since receiving it!

The supplies in this kit are amazing, exactly what my boyfriend wanted!Unfortunately, the black vice is not good quality at all. The bottom overflows with grease and spins constantly when trying to use it. Pretty disappointed about that, but good tools otherwise.

Precision tool kit with all of the basics to make your best bait. I am a medium tier but I catch more fish with my fly's than what other fisherman, woman do with live bait. I live in NC and most of the time the fish inland strike on the surface. I was raised in MT and I used to buy my flies because they were so effective, but the price was outrageous. I tie a good fly where I am fishing that looks like the insects the fish are biting on. This kit comes with a base plate and the box keeps everything from falling out. I keep this kit and my fishing pole with a few materials in my jeep all of the time.

I have a similar travel "fly tying kit" at my vacation home that I purchased long ago at a far greater price. Both came in identical wood boxes but the older one had about 1/2 the tools and a single option for attaching the vise. This model even has a hair stacker as well as two good hackle pliers and three half hitch tools. I really liked the vise option to mount it to a picnic table with a clamp. The base for the vise is so substantial that you'll probably leave it at home and use the clamp if you take this on a plane. I do a lot of tying but you can't lug all the stuff from the bench with you when you go on an adventure. This tool kit is more than adequate.

wooden case was poorly assembled, vise locking handle seems to be made from low quality material, would bend easily. Vise jaws do not hold securely . tools seem to be ok. Could have purchased a better vise for less money,
