Best used prior to snowfall -- Sleet and rain can wash away the protection. By preventing ice, PlaySAFE reduces your winter clean-up time by up to 75%! For years, safety professionals have been preventing ice by applying liquids to runways and roads BEFORE IT BEGINS TO SNOW. Now you can prevent ice just like them (but without the harmful salts). Just pour PlaySAFE's Ice Blocker into a clean pump sprayer, then lightly spray to your walkways and keep them ice-free (without dangerous chloride salts or urea). When the storm ends, just remove the snow and go back indoors -- your work is over while the neighbor's lengthy fight with ice is just starting -- try not to snicker...

No more tracking salt into the house. No more ruining the floors. No more salt on our pups paws. Worked so well we switched over to only using this. Handheld sprayer with a fine misting capability works best. Even received a hand written note with the second purchase which is a very nice touch.

This product seemed like it was exactly what I needed so I ordered two cases well before any snow was due. The first case arrived on schedule but there was a major issue with the delivery of the second one. The vendor was on it immediately making sure it was taken care of as quickly as possible. We've not had snow yet but we have been getting rain and freezing temps at night. This stuff really keeps the sidewalks from getting slick and it lasts. I almost look forward to the first snow so I can really put it to the test. I'm very happy with the product so far and incredibly pleased with the outstanding customer service that went above and beyond. Definitely 5 stars all around!

This product was used because we recently had new concrete added to our driveway. We also have a pet daschund that we wanted protected from salt. This item worked really well to melt the snow and prevent any ice freezing on our driveway. Prevented many slips or falls. Easy to apply if you have a manual pressure sprayer to dispense.

New to home ownership and an 8 car driveway, we were ill prepared for the snow that came through our area in December. Our lawn care service plowed the driveway for us, but we still spent the next three days slowly chipping away at the dangerous 2" ice that formed underneath. So I was determined to find a functional solution. After researching, I found Pet Safe as it was featured on This Old House. Knowing how harsh salt products were on our dog's paws back in NYC, I decided to give this product a try as it would hopefully solve both the icing and paw issues. Before the next predicted snowfall, I put one gallon in a pressure sprayer (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VKL41NN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and my driveway and walkway were adequately treated. When it came time to remove the snow, it came right up with nothing sticking to the drive or walkway.Ok. Honestly, that was about 2" of snow. So what about an 18" dump from a nor'easter? Well, I got to try it a few days later and it worked brilliantly. Seriously. I applied it the same way I had for the 2" snow and there was zero icing. Even after we had to fully shovel a total of 4 times, the product continued to work its magic and it significantly cut down our shoveling and clean up time too.But what's even more impressive is the superior customer service you get directly from the company. When you buy here on Amazon, PetSafe comes direct from the warehouse and includes a personal note along with direct contact information. Call me old fashioned, but I can put more faith and trust in a product when the folks who sell it personally stand behind it and reach out directly. I'd give six stars if I could, I'm that impressed with the all around performance.

I bought this last winter season but never encountered any icing conditions. We no longer have pets but I had just rebuilt the brick paver sidewalk and concrete driveway. I wanted something that would prevent icing without degrading the brick mortar or concrete.Recently we had our first icing event. Mixed precipitation prior to snowfall. I applied this with a Ryobi battery powered electric sprayer. It was easy to apply and worked effectively to prevent icing on the brick surfaces (kept completely clear) and turned the ice on the driveway to a slush that could be pushed away with a snow shovel.Later that evening it snowed lightly. The snow initially stuck on the concrete driveway but melted by morning (before sunrise) even though the air temperature remained below freezing by 5F the whole time. The sidewalk remained clear throughout. For me the product worked well, was easier to use than traditional dry rock salt/ice melters and with a bit of experience looks to be cost effective.I did leave some adjacent areas that would not be walked/driven on to have a point of comparison. These iced solidly and did not melt for several days until the sun and elevated temperature allowed them to melt off.I rated the three characteristics listed (warmth, sheerness and thickness) as 3 stars only because they don't seem like clear measures of the products performance. The thickness for example is ideal for use in the type of sprayer I used and on the surfaces I treated; that might not be the case for someone using a pour-on approach on a small area.Overall I gave this a 4 star rating as it is more expensive to treat the entire area (need a whole bottle) that I need to treat than conventional dry melters. That though is looking at it on a first cost basis, not long term. Hopefully it will indeed not affect the brick or concrete surface in which case the extra cost would be justified and the rating would be 5 stars.
