Does not work as well as rock salt in very cold weather, but well enough. I prefer the small sacrifice to keep my dog's paws and lawn safe.

I love this ice melt! It works well and is safe for pets and greenery. My driveway and walk is north-facing so I really need it to keep everything clear and dry.

I bought this product believing what description said it would do, (Time-Release formulation helps prevent re-icing up to three days) I applied the product to ice in my outside entry way fairly heavily it melted the ice fairly well at about 25 degrees but about six hours later at 18 degrees the ice had reformed. This may be safe for pet paws but useless after about six hours as an ice melt in my particular experience.
