The spring-like neck bends and jumps back to a straight position (it does not retain the bent position).The magnet head is very weak. It cannot hold a utensil that falls down a garbage disposal (which is my main purpose for it). The light is not too bright but it's bright enough for the purpose of illuminating a dark small space like a garbage disposal. The claw seems strong enough for the purpose I intended it.

Works well. Seems sturdy for my purposes to pick up things without having to bend over to the floor. Like the magnet at the end also. Would buy this one again.
