Most pointy trash pickers such as this have a protective cap that is used to protect you from the sharp point but when I went to pull the green cap off the tip it would not budge so this is what it stated from the Mfgs. website! "The pin tip is very sharp and should always be handled with extreme care! For your safety, the safety cap is tight. To remove, use a pair of pliers and pull directly outward. For safety and to preserve the sharpness of the pin, after use we recommend placing the green cap back on" ! So use a pair of pliers and pull the green cap off to use!

I have 50ish fruit trees in my yard and I love this thing for picking up dropped fruit in the fall. I’m no spring chicken so not having to bend over and essentially touch my toes 150 times every morning feels pretty good!

As a new resident to South Carolina with two huge Magnolia trees in my backyard, dropping leaves is a daily nuisance. Raking was tiresome. Using this tool is easy. I put a Costco brown bag on my two wheel dollie and empty the filled pick into the bag as I walk. The trees are beautiful and the shade they provide is wonderful. Now I have a great way to keep my yard tidy which is important to me. I recommend this tool to anyone who has this problem.

The trash picker ordered from Unger Enterprises was promptly delivered, but unfortunately damaged in shipment. The tool's point was broken off and unrepairable. It otherwise looked like it would be perfect for picking up leaves and debris. I followed Amazon's procedures for requesting to return the tool. Unger promptly responded to my request and satisfied completely and expeditiously resolution to the broken product. I would not hesitate to order from Unger Enterprises again.

Bought 10 or12 of these for the a Great AmericanClean Up. Five broke off at the tip. I wasn't near that group of people so I can't say if it was user misuse or defective product. The pen I used and the pen a nearby colleague used worked well with no breakage for four hours. Thus my 3-star review.I had bought a single unit a few weeks before to test it put before placing a big order. The single unit came in a box in another box, extremely well packed. The second, much larger order came in a large bag, similar to a grocery sack, but stronger. One of the protective tips had broken and I stabbed my thumb removing the pen. Was surprised in the difference in packing. Unpacker beware!I would probably buy these again based on my individual experience. These work so much better than the claw kind of trash pickets -- as long as they don't break.
