On our small family farm, we have a scary little hay barn that I am about to start calling the "snake den". I have a tarp that I use to cover our square bales, and twice now I have had a close call with snakes resting on top of the bales (conveniently right next to my hand when I grab the tarp to remove it). I ordered this to help prevent what seemed to be an inevitable snake bite, and I have already had a chance to put it to work. It not only helps safely move the tarp, but does a great job and grabbing those scary nope-ropes!

The five foot aluminum grabber stick by Yorikyas/JingYuXinNengYuan is made in PRC (china). This is a really good grabber stick for stuff in the garage. The mechanism uses a metal rod and not a cable to link the handle to the claw. My issue with this is with snakes. This is a five foot pole with a grabber, so this is limited to smaller snakes. I had to hold on real tight to keep them from escaping (trial and error). Luckily my test run was on a rat snake and not a water moccasin. Snakes are fast and can close ground quickly to strike, so my pole was instantly too short. So it's a good pole, but takes some practice with real snakes.4 stars

This grabber is well made and looks pretty good for what it is. It came fully assembled with the add on light in a small bag with a clamp. It isn't extremely heavy and is very well balanced.

The tape measure shown in my photo confirms that the pincers are only four (4) feet away from the pincer end that holds the captured snake. My 2nd photo shows overall length as being at 59 inches from tip to tip. Lock mechanism holds pincers in their completely closed position (i.e. snake would be crushed if lock were to be engaged with snake body inside the pincer area) This would be as expected given supplier’s assertion that even small snakes could be securely held (verified factual when you see how the pincers fully close on one another). I found that lock disengagement was not easily done – a considerable grip pressure and force on the lock lever tab were required to move it to the opened position. My 3rd photo shows the light pattern when the aluminum bodied flashlight is operating. Flashlight requires two (2) AA batteries which are not included, and is activated via tailcap single press off/on button. Light mount uses a metal plate with two (2) machine screws. All hardware and a hex head Allen wrench is provided, with installation and aiming being very straight-forward.Overall, I find all components fit and function to be as would be expected of a professional quality tool.I hope you noted my comments and photos as being beneficial in your considerations. Thanks for checking my review!

This snake grabber does what it is suppose to do, for a very fair price. The anodized aluminum main shaft is thick enough to be strong, but not too thick as to be overly heavy. You'll have no problem extending this pole out to your full arm length to reach for a snake, as the weight is very manageable. The handle/claw squeezer is easy to manipulate and very responsive. You can give just a little bit of pressure, or squeeze it shut as strong as your hand can do, and everything in between. I did not realize that it came with an attached flashlight, so it was a nice surprise to find it in the package. It is just a couple of bolts, and they give you the hex-key wrench to install it. Took about two minutes to set up, and now it's hanging next to my other garden tools. I haven't had the chance to grab a snake with it yet, but I have no doubt that when it comes time, it will do the job just fine. Price is fair, quality is good, makes for a five star item.Five Star Long Pole Snake Grabber

There's a light included with this grabber, but it doesn't fit with the attachment clip and the clip will only fit on the grabber in one way - the opposite way to hold the light! The tongs themselves are very useful, grip well, and are sturdy, but the light situation needs to change.

This was this perfect choice to take with me to the beach! I always pick up trash in my area and do my part, this makes it possible to reach hard to get things in the dunes and the things I don't want to touch. It will also be great if I ever need to move a snake, at the beach or in my backyard garden; I live in Texas, and we have plenty of snakes around. The flashlight is a bonus, it's easy to attach and takes AA batteries. I would get it again!
