Between my house, my partner's house, and my parents' house there's a maltese mix, a malinos, a rottweiler/shepherd mix, and a lab/cattle dog mix. Quite a variety of fur types, and a couple (though not all) very dedicated shedders. My parents' groomer actually gave me a *very* similar product for my dog (the lab mix) several month ago, and it's been great.Over time I've tried all kinds of stuff. The "grippy gloves", furminators, the arched combs, you name it.For starters, every dog above seems to love this. I think it provides a nice sensation similar to being scratched (in a positive/pleasurable way). The amount of fur it collects is amazing - and easy to remove. You don't need to peel it off rubbber, fiddle with the Furminator eject button which doesn't work half the time, pick it out of the comb.. it just pops out in one dense, easy to toss away, mass/strip.On the heavy coated/double coated dogs like the shep/rottweiler mix, and on the malinois, in excels in pulling out the light fluffy undercoat. On my lab mix, it seems to get somewhat less undercoat, but does a nice job with the slightly longer outer coat, removing the loose hairs but without pulling.I would say it's maybe not the perfect tool for the Maltese, with her thinner and more sparse "hairs", but it still helps a bit, and certainly doesn't seem to bother her.The one given to me by the groomer is perfect - it looks and measures exactly the same, only the handle design (where you hold it) is a bit thinner. By the time I got it, the brand had worn off, and I haven't been able to locate more. This, I feel, may be of lower quality "offshore" manufacture, but it works just as well, and so far, seems to be holding up well. I'd definitely store it inside - it's clear the metal components aren't treated at all to resist corrosion.I honestly think this style of comb is better than the furminator, but hasn't yet established the same following (or a good, "trustable" manufacturer to make a consistently reliable version)

My husky has so much undercoat and gets matted on a daily basis. I could not believe how much hair this brushed out. It looked like a snowstorm in my yard! It actually went through her hair much more easily and less painful than any other brush or fur remover I have ever tried. Highly recommend.

Picked this up for a Maine Coon mix cat, that hates every single style of brush and comb we have tried on him.The moment we tried this brush on him, he was ok. Normally, the moment a brush or comb touches him, he hisses and runs away. This time he actually stayed and allowed us to brush him for a bit. We got more fur off him than we normally do. It also went through a few snags and he didn't scream in pain, because it didn't pull his fur and skin.My only complaint is that it doesn't hold the fur so it does fly all over the room. I wish it had a way to hold it in once you brush the fur off thw cat.
