I play an electric drum set for a band. The rim shot on the snare is weak. I purchased this item and it actually sounds like a rimshot and has agreat tone!

The block itself is solid and has a nice high pitch. It's good to use instead of rim shots. I have a couple concerns. First, the block is fastened to the clamp with a wing bolt. Not sure how long that will hold up. Second, the clamp is made poorly. I had to use pliers to tighten the clamp on the mounting post. I had to tighten it so hard I'm surprised the cheap bolt didn't snap. Buts it's on there. For good. No taking it off the mounting post so make sure you have it where you want it. Mine is on a bass drum clamp so it can stay together. Sounds as good as an LP block, just hope the rest of it stands the test of time.

Love these blocks. This tone has replaced my rimshot for lots of uses. So much easier than an actual rimshot. Clean clear toneHighly recommend

For the price, this is great. The LP version has a slightly better tone and is generally louder. However, the LP version is 3x the price. Moreover, these and the LPs are both made out of plastic, so they are pretty damn similar.
