This little Yamaha 3/4 scale guitar is a quality build. They promote it as a travel guitar and provide a soft case for it.The one I got was the Mangowood Brown Sunburst finish. But what matters is it plays nice. The intonation news fairly accurate the string height is good and the electronics works well including the tuner. And it's not very expensive, all in all that makes for a good value and enjoyable playing for years to come!

I read a bunch of bad reviews and still decided to see it for myself. Most of the reviews were about quality and beginner friendliness of it. Honest take, mine is really good quality and I was scared so I checked every inch of it. Just finished trying the electric components and if you're using external gain, get rid of it or bye bye ears when you slide. And if you're a beginner, the strings ARE kinda high, but just switch those strings to softer ones, like 11s and you'll be set. Guitar looks great, feels great. Kinda on the quiet side, more for like travel and camping. Overall good.

É bem pequeno do jeito que eu precisava, som muito bom, é mas alto do que se imagina e muito lindo. Veio com alguns detalhes mas deu pra passar.Só o preço que poderia ser melhor, porque tá um pouco alto.

I bought the Yamaha APXT2 3/4-Size Acoustic-Electric Guitar in Black as my daughter’s first guitar, and it’s been an amazing choice! Not only is the 3/4 size perfect for her smaller hands, making it easy and comfortable to play, but the sound quality is also truly impressive for a guitar of its size. Whether unplugged or connected to an amp, it delivers a rich, clear tone. One of the standout features is how beautiful and professional this guitar looks. The sleek black finish gives it a polished, elegant feel that’s usually found in full-sized guitars. My daughter loves how it feels like a serious instrument rather than just a beginner’s guitar, which has motivated her even more to keep practicing. It’s also lightweight and portable, so she can easily bring it with her anywhere. Overall, the APXT2 is not only a fantastic beginner’s guitar, but it’s also a well-crafted, professional-looking instrument that’s perfect for anyone starting their musical journey. Highly recommend!

Estoy fascinada con mi guitarrita, en verdad es pequeña y liviana como yo quería! La ocupo para tocar en vivo en mi trabajo y suena como cualquier yamaha, de lujo!

I have mixed feeling about this guitar. I'm a youth pastor that has played around at guitar for 20 years, hammering out some songs strumming chords. But I got serious about learning the instrument during covid. I purchased this guitar on the Yamaha name, and in order to teach my 10 & 13 old children how to play, and have it as my bang around guitar for some on the go youth activities.Pros+ it has lovely craftsmanship as Yamaha is wont to have.+ very durable - I've banged it up and it's still solid+ it's easy for my 10 year old to wrap his hand around to learn+ it sounds fine when plugged in+ tuner and electronics are nice to have+ super portable and easy to pack+ fun to take to the beach+ I'm no expert but I thought the action was at a height easy to playNeutralThe size is really a 1/2 guitar, almost a 6 string ukulele - so it could be good for a child or those with small/skinny fingers. The neck is tight for me to make some chords on with my fat fingers.Cons- as others have noted, has a tinny Ukulele sound when unplugged, especially when compared with- doesn't have nearly the sound of a slightly bigger guitar or one with a solid top that you can buy in this price rangeIt has a host of good features. However, for $200 I wish I would have gotten a small solid top guitar like the FS800 Yamaha, CC60S Fender, or Orangewood Oliver Jr. They all sound like real guitars for the same price (though without the electronics - that I didn't really need anyway). Also, the Ashthorpe guitars and the like have full-sized guitars with almost the same quality build of laminate top. I got a full size Ashthorpe for $140 that has all the pros of this (except the portability) with none of the negatives..

I bought this guitar as a travel guitar after missing the ability to play acoustically with my Ultra-Light Traveler guitar. As expected, the acoustic sound is thinner by virtue of the smaller body. There seems to be significant body noise with the piezo pickup, but it's not the worst I've experienced, and it is a decent sounding piezo. Interestingly, it runs on 2 AAs, included, which are much more available than the usual 9V. Not sure how the battery life compares yet. This guitar does travel very well. Fits readily in small spaces like overhead airplane bins or stuffed car trunks, and it is very sturdy.

I love it. I found the sound a bit too thin at standard tuning but it really mellowed out and had some nice resonance tuned a half-step down.I have smaller hands, and mostly play rapid-strummy Mountain Goats-esque folk rock stuff on this. It's great for that. Spacing for more complex picked riffs at the top of the neck can feel a little cramped, but about average down closer to the body.It smelled overwhelming of glue for about the first two weeks, which I didn't love. No longer noticeable.Been playing it daily for about two months now and have taken it out to a couple of open mics, which it's perfect for; built-in tuner works well, pickup sounds great direct into the board and PA. I don't hear a _ton_ of difference when I adjust the tone knob, but there's some good headroom in the volume control and it hasn't kicked feedback at me yet. It's especially great for songwriting. Small and comfortable enough that I don't get tired of holding or handling it, and it doesn't take up much room next to you on the couch. It just fits into the scene better when surrounded by some notebooks, pens, an iPad, music stand, a pile of empties, etc. And in a way that I'm certain would horrify ergonomists and guitar teachers everywhere, it's fairly comfortable to play lying down.I haven't had any issues with the tuners. The strings feel cheap, but fine for the price. The neck on mine was straight but not perfectly smooth; one or two spots had obviously been filled at the factory, which annoyed me for the first day or two but I haven't noticed them since. The frets were in pretty good shape. The bag is cheap and thin, but I hadn't realized it even came with one, so that was a nice bonus as it helped me get it back home on a road trip without damage. I picked up the hardshell SKB case many others have recommended in the reviews and it's a decent fit, especially if you roll your strap up and stick it into the gap made by the cutaway.Bottom line: if this thing got stolen I would immediately purchase another, no hesitation.
