If you ever wanted to play a dream 12 string guitar, this is the one. Very affordable and plays like a multi-thousand dollar guitar. (in some cases better). From opening the box, to the feel, the neck and fretboard are so silky smooth. This thing is a dream to play and sounds like you're playing in a concert hall.

I gig regularly both in cover bands and for unplugged sessions. I've wanted a 12 string for a long time but never pulled the trigger, as it seemed indulgent. My wife independently researched and purchased this guitar for my birthday, and I've been in love with it ever since. Huge full sound. Well setup out of the box. Built in Fishman electronics. This guitar exceeds expectations in every way, and will be a staple for all of my acoustic settings (even for songs that dont call for 12 string...).

This 12-string sounds great, looks great, and is easy to play. I did get it at a great price. But my daughter and I love it. I love plugging it in.

I have played a Gretsch Tennessee Rose guitar for over 15 years and it's been the most playable guitar of all the 7 guitars I own. I have wanted a 12 string to play Christian worship music and so I went to the the most reliable, best value guitar manufacturer out there, Gretsch. I love the guitar, it's got killer looks, great craftsmanship, tone, playability. I am pleased with the electronics including a built in tuner. I did purchase a Gretsch G6302 XL Case and it fits perfectly. All in all... super pleased.

The Penguin, Falcon Rancher, and Rancher 12-String were so visually striking, I bought all three. Unfortunately, the first 12-string appeared to have been dropped and the binding on the bottom and the finish was cracked. The vendor offered $40 towards a local repair, but nobody was going to be able to get the gold metal flake binding and install for that price. So they sent me a second guitar. The strings on the second instrument were grounding our on the 12 and 13th frets. I took it to a luthier who re-glued a brace for me and 'made some other adjustments' to make the instrument playable... for $240. I wasn't happy with sound and within a week it was as bad as when it had arrived. So I took to another luthier who kept it for a week and told me that the instrument needed a neck reset and it probably wouldn't even be worth it for the price. I asked him it he'd try and he said no. He knew I was disappointed and asked if he could keep for a while and talk to another luthier about it. I said sure. Long story short, the other guy came up with a fix, a bridge and saddle adjustment and some relief to the truss rod and it's sounding a lot better now. It cost another $120, but it beat throwing it away. Quality control at the factory on this instrument sucked, that's why there's one star.

Love it -this is an impressive guitar in looks, size and sound. Gretsch delivers on the promise of "that great Gretsch sound" in a big, bold 12 sound. Built in tuner is a nice feature to keep all those strings in tune. Great Gretsch play, fast neck and very tight. This thing is gorgeous in looks, and heavenly to play. That big 12 string acoustic sound coming out of the Rancher Falcon is absolutely worth it. I bought this one for my son, now I'm jealous I don't have one!

A very pleasant surprise! This guitar is very big & beautiful. A little heavy in weight but not problematic. Perfect to play right out of the box with nice action. A little lite on the bass end but that's ok too. A fuller sound is attained when plugged in. The Fishman system is flawless and quiet. An excellent buy for the price.

Got the guitar used but like new for $500. Couldn't even tell it was used at all!!! Looked up and down for imperfections but there was none to be found! Tuned it up and played for a few hours. The guitar feels nice, action is great and sounds amazing! Strings could use a changing though, D'ADDARIO'S do not know how to make acoustic strings. I will switch them out for either EARTHWOOD or ELIXIRS. The on board tuner is probably the best that I've had as it is quick to response to the octave strings. I have been playing guitar on and off for 8 or so years now and this baby is definitely a keeper!The only "con" this baby has is that it is quiet compared to my IBANEZ exotic wood acoustic and my fiances LUNA Butterfly but a quick an easy fix would be to plug it in to an amp like my MARSHALL AS100D! Problem solved!And don't get me wrong the guitar sounds fine unplugged by yourself or with a friend but when you add drums or bass to the mix then you better own a amp.One more issue (not with the guitar) would be finding an inexpensive case (that fits cus she's a rather big girl) to go with it. Luckily I have a hardshell GUILD case which fits anything but I think I saw on the GRETCH website that their case is about $250.Hope this review helped you in your quest for the perfect 12 string! I know this girl will keep me happy for a long while!!!
