I absolutely love this Jameson guitar! I had never heard of the brand before, and I took a gamble on it; I think it was somewhere between $90 and $100 when I bought it. I needed something that could plug in, because I have a more expensive Jasmine guitar that does not have a pick up, and to get a good pick up installed on that would cost more than the guitar is really worth.I like everything about this guitar! The cutaway makes it easy to reach the higher frets, the sound is spectacular, the pick up versatility controls are excellent, and I love the thin body. The bag that came with this guitar is just a half step above being worthless, but in all honesty, we don’t buy this guitar for the bag. I just went to a local music store and bought a quality gig bag for it.The intonation is fantastic, I dropped some fresh Martin strings on there when I first got it, and it sounds beautiful. I am actually going to replace the tuning pegs with some Gotoh tuners, but you don’t necessarily have to do that. The tuners that came with it are pretty decent - they hold a tuning, and are pretty smooth, especially for the price point, but I wanted something a little bit more precise. Again, that’s just a personal preference, but if you are on the fence about this guitar, I highly recommend it, I have been playing guitar for almost 30 years and I’m no pro, but I have a pretty decent idea on what I am talking about. I have owned four or five acoustic guitars over the years, and this is my go to one now. I mostly play electric, but I absolutely love this Jameson acoustic! They could easily sell this for $250. Thanks for reading, and have a great day!

First of all this review is for the product only and does not rate Amazon's service or delivery speed or packaging related issues. As a guitar player for 38 years I will go over the most important things a professional would be looking into that collectively make up the guitar's quality.Starting with the obviously cheap price in which this guitar gives a rather large bang for the buck and why. For $87.00 plus tax you not only get a great sounding acoustic/electric guitar, you'll be provided with a 1/4" male to male guitar cable, a strap, an extra set of strings, truss rod wrench, and some guitar picks. The 9V battery for guitar's preamp/EQ is also included and a gig bag to protect the cosmetics and paint job. The intonation is dialed in pretty accurately and the action and relief make it easy to fret without fret rattles. This is also a great guitar to modify. Tuners would be the first thing I would soup up because they are typical stock tuners and I prefer something with an 18:1 turn ratio for fine tuning. A bone end nut and saddle would be next and finally I would change out the preamp/EQ for some Fishman gear. The guitar is pretty light and thin and wouldn't be hard to crush so that's something to beware of. For $87 it would at least still be good fire wood and buying a replacement is super cheap. I've only had mine for a day so it's hardly long enough to do this review justice but if anything breaks I will update anything that needs to be. But I think any guitar player looking for a good quality super cheap guitar, I'd say this is the one to get without a doubt. There are some other brands like Ashthorpe that I haven't tried yet but maybe some day.

It was extremely hard to choose a guitar sight unseen. Had I not been looking for a left-handed guitar at the last minute, I would have researched it much more in person in my area. That said, I got an excellent deal and a great guitar. I waited to leave a review until I had had it a month so I could give a fair account of the guitar. It keeps tune quite well (according to my electronic tuner) and I rarely have to adjust the tuning. I am just learning to play, so I keep the electronic tuner on the headstock and check the tuning every time I pick it up to practice. Approximately every third day or so I need to adjust about half the strings less than a quarter turn of the peg. Once I left the house when it was warm and left windows open and the heater off, and when I got home it was 30 degrees colder--that time every string had to be re-tuned by about a half-note. I bought a walk-around size amp and am perfectly pleased with both the acoustic and the electric sound of the guitar. I went back and forth whether it would be possible to find a good quality, left-handed, 3/4 size guitar for a decent price the day before Christmas, and I decided to go with the full size Jameson. It is _almost_ too big for me, both for my hands and for my body (I'm five feet tall full grown). It's a reach between notes on the first and third frets and if I'm not paying attention my hand drifts towards one fret or the other and the next note at the opposite fret sounds off. It's difficult to find a sitting position that is both comfortable to hold and play. I'm confident that as I become more practiced and proficient these will become less of an issue. I assume that as I become a better player, I may want a fancier or more expensive guitar, but this is ideal for a learner. I think it would be a steal at even twice the price. It came with an amp cable, several picks, a gig bag and a great info sheet with tuning and chord info, plus info sheets on registering the guitar and customer-support info. I bought separately a tuner, several extra sets of strings (I broke three strings before I got it tuned properly the first time--haven't broken another since), a pin-winder, the belt-amp, and a lefty beginning guitar book. All together this was under $120.00 including shipping, and makes an excellent learn-to-play setup. As I was prepared to pay at least $120 for a basic acoustic guitar, I found it a great deal and the excellent quality above and beyond what I expected for the price (or even twice the price) a wonderful surprise. After I had already paid for it but before it arrived, I read a bunch of scary reviews where people described it as a piece of junk that wouldn't keep tune and as a cheap toy, so I was relieved when it arrived and I found it to be a serviceable and well-made beginner guitar.

This guitar sounds terrible. The product I received is defective. The strings buzz moderate to bad, but a few are really bad or outright dead. At first I assumed the buzzing strings were because I was just learning to play and had no callouses built up on the fingertips. It did not occur to me that it could be a problem with the guitar. I also noticed that the strings would not stay in tune for long. The buzzing is in part a result of some frets that are not positioned at the correct height. There are also many frets sticking out enough to snag fingers when run along the sides of the neck, with several being very rough. Both sides of the neck are affected but they are much worse on the high E side. The top of the guitar around the bridge is sinking due to drying out and the bridge is starting to lift. I took the guitar for two evaluations. One by an independent store where I live and then a second by Long & McQuade (very reputable, 60+ locations across Canada). Both had the same conclusions - the quality of this guitar and the issues do not justify the cost of the necessary repairs as they well exceed the value of the guitar. They said the guitar was "too far gone" to re-humidify to correct the sinking top.No serial number could be found so there is no way to track when the guitar was made and how long it sat around drying out before being sold to me.This seller Grab the Sale has a 10 day return policy. As a new player I attributed the buzzing issues to just learning and not having callouses built up. By the time it became apparent there was something seriously wrong with this guitar, the return period had passed.R.W. Jameson guitars are distributed through MDW (Musician's Discount Warehouse). It was MDW's paperwork inside the guitar box that said to contact help@mdwsupport.com if there were any problems with the guitar. I have had extensive contact with MDW. They say they have never heard of Grab the Sale and that GtS is not an authorized dealer for their products. MDW said they might be able to help me in some way if Grab the Sale could provide the bill of sale verifying that they purchased the guitar from MDW. I have no issue with Grab the Sale but they will not acknowledge my emails to help me out with this issue.MDW did offer to exchange the guitar, however the shipping costs to send it to them in the U.S. from Canada cost way too much. I would also have to pay for shipping the exchanged guitar back to me. And now we are talking about international shipping rates which will be much higher than the original order that was shipped within Canada via Canada Post. With that kind of cost adding up I could have saved myself all the aggravation and just bought a better guitar locally. I don't feel I should have to pay any more for the product I should have received to begin with.I can't find contact info for R.W. Jameson Company to let them know directly about the problems with this guitar. So right now I own $255.00 worth of firewood. If it were possible to give ZERO stars for this guitar, I would.
