These are sharp and well made. Hard and smooth cutting, they also bridge holes well and are less prone to jam. These traits make them function well. Additionally they are affordable.

So the description says taps wood, plastic, metal. I have not tried wood but I dont see these being that helpful for machine screws in wood. I have tried them on softer steel and plastic and they worked well. Havent broken any yet. They are pretty sharp and do not seem to get too loaded with chips when I have used them.

This seem to be of good quality and work well. Will update on durability.

This set of taps covers many of the common, smaller SAE thread sizes. The taps are sharp and nicely ground. They are also quite reasonably priced. I'm only giving them 3 stars however, because they are designed and marketed as "machine taps". A machine tap is supposed to allow the shavings or "chips" to be continuously cleared out as the tap is driven into a hole by a machine (such as a tapping machine, lathe, mill, etc.). Spiral point taps push the chips out in front of the tap while spiral flute taps (such as these) pull the chips rearward as the tap advances. It seems the flutes on these taps are either not deep enough or simply have poor geometry. The chips do not clear out as the tap cuts. I think if you tried to power tap a hole with these in steel you would end up breaking them. I tapped several holes in some 12L14 mild steel with the 10-24 tap, and I had to repeatedly back out the tap to clear the chips, just like you'd do with a straight flute hand tap. I tried tapping some aluminum with the 12-24 tap, and it also clogged with chips quickly. These are useful as hand taps, and they are inexpensive, but they are quite useless as machine taps.

These combination drill taps are perfect for 3-D printed designs that need threads. Although you can model the threads in most programs, they tend to work much better if you run one of these taps through them. The soft plastic cuts easily, particularly with help from a motorized screwdriver (not a cordless drills- too much power). Recommended

This is an inexpensive set of 6 spiral flute taps for tapping threads into an inner diameter. The product page shows these also creating threads into an outer diameter, however, that would require some CNC and a bit of programming. The description says these are good for tapping plastic, wood, and metal. I have not attempted to use these in metal but I have used them in plastic and I also used them in wood. They worked perfectly fine. I can say of they work in metal or how long they would last. I see these as an incredible value.

For $10 this 6-pc SAE tap set is an ok deal. They are flute design with 3 of them in 32 size, 2 of them in 24 size and 1 of them in 20 size. The tips are sharp and seems well made. The size label is very hard to read. Everything is in a zip lock bag (a storage box with label would be nice.)
