I have had no negative issues when I gave it a try on the fresh new whole drilled with lubricant for tappingwhich should never be done without it etc

I run a machine shop, and i needed a tap for a blind hole in delrin parts so i gave these a shot rather than pull out my good taps for a plastic part. Does a fantastic job. Ive also used it on 416 stainless on my mill and i was not disappointed. It was ½" thick and it was under power in and out with no issues. For the money these taps are great. If they can cut in stainless, mild steel would be a cake walk. Granted the flute angle is a little aggressive for stainless but it worked well all the same. If you're not doing production work and you need them to tap a hole here and there, they are great. Great for hobbyist.P. S. Anyone who buys these that says they don't work, or are cheap, are either abusing them or misusing them. Obviously they are cheaper but none the less good

Bought the tap to thread through holes in 316 stainless steel, a difficult material to work, for sure. Was using a tap holder in the mill to keep the tap lined up and it broke anyway. Finished the job with older straight taps.

Probably really good for thread chasing (cleaning out existing threads), not so good for cutting new threads in mild steel (my experience). I suspect it would work well for aluminum and plastics.
