Very simple and easy to set up. Cleaned and cleared my 16' x 48" pool in less than 24 hours, after sitting covered all winter.However, be sure to tighten the bolts that hold the pump halves together BEFORE you install it. I didn't, and after about 30 minutes of operation, it sprung 3 leaks. One on each side and one on the top. I tightened all the bolts down as best as I could with the pump running and stopped. The leaks slowed, but never stopped completely. So, instead of draining everything, I put Flex Seal all around the seal where the pump halves meet. I was surprised as to how quickly and completely the leaks stopped! Kudos to Flex Seal, I was never a believer! Guess I'll be taking it all apart at the end of the season.

I bought one of these filters last year for my 18x48 above ground pool. It worked fine for the season but the cold winter cracked the pump and I needed to replace it this year. I bought a new one in May and it took a couple weeks to replace the hoses, add stop valves and get all the correct adapters. It started off okay and seemed to be filtering the water. After a few days, the pump would just stop and for a while I though it was my connection. Eventually I discovered the cord was bad and the pump would randomly stop working. I would have to twist the cord to get it to turn back on.I tried to return it to Amazon but I was a few days past the 30 day return window. I did call Amazon and I should be getting a refund once I return the filter. Of course, I have to buy another filter and hook that one up to my pool before I can return this one. I am super disappointed with this filter and the inconvenience of having to replace my filter and return a faulty filter full of sand.I have ordered the new filter and it is not one of these! I will not purchase another filter from this brand ever again. Definitely would not recommend.

My 15 foot above ground pool came with a normal crappy pool and it goes green fast even with chemicals.I bought this little unit and put less than a bag of sand in it from my local pool store and hooked it up to my very green water pool and over night with a shock put in it before bed my pool cleared up to Cristal clear and now takes way less chemicals to keep it in range.I highly recommend this pool filter for pools my size for sure. Mine is 15 feet across circle that is 5 feet deep and this filter works amazing.
