Sleek modern design. Easy to wire into existing system. Included sockets, which I needed because I was upgrading from my 30 year old ones which used a different type. Alarm functioned on test. Voice is clear with appropriate volume and tone. Acts as a nightlight but not overpowering. Built solidly.

These are stylish and easy to install! I got tricked by the landlord into buying these with the promise I'd be reimbursed. That never happened, but I am happy to have gotten a good sensor that vocalizes its issues with its built in speaker. These do have a bright green LED that's constantly on, so if that sort of thing bothers you, probably move on! Otherwise, they seem to work very well and look very modern. Love 'em!

I have had the X-Sense installed since July 2024. The installation process was straightforward, and testing went smoothly with the system. On New Year's Eve, we experienced a real-life test when fireworks smoke entered the house through an open window. The alarms detected the smoke and indicated its location, allowing us to check for any potential fire risks. There was no fire, but we identified the source of the smoke. Other than the bright green light from the detector, which I partially covered with gaffer tape to aid sleep, the system performed very well.

I was looking for a reasonably priced smoke/carbon monoxide detector since I was replacing all of them in my house. The X-sense got fairly good reviews. It is easy to install and looks sharp. I like the feature where the detector tells you in what room of the house smoke or carbon monoxide is detected. You set this feature up during install, which is easy. X-sense walks you through it. Some people may not like the green light on the detector because it is really bright. It acts like a night light. But, I think it is easy to get used to so don't let that stop you from purchasing this detector.

The physical product looks and feels as nice as it's depicted online. The quality of the packaging, wiring, screws, and screw housings included are very good. Even the instruction manual translation/verbiage is very good. I like the voice commands/alerts, very understandable and easy to program. By default, the product comes with an X-Sense card promising a 60-day money-back guarantee and 5-yr worry-free warranty (not sure of the details; maybe customer service and possibly replacements?). If you use the QR code included on the card to register the product, you get an extended warranty comprising a 90-day money-back guarantee and 7-yr worry-free warranty.Three big things to call out:1) First, although the wiring replacement was snappy (once I finally figured out my breakers!), the mounting bracket was easily the biggest project (yes, a project)! These mounting bracket will almost certainly NOT fit your preexisting, American dry wall smoke detector locations. These brackets are SMALL; in fact, the entirety of the mounting bracket fit inside my preexisting detectors' holes. The screws/housings they included were meant to be used to install the device DIRECTLY onto flat surfaces, i.e. walls, ceilings, etc. I find that to be unrealistic and counterintuitive for WIRED devices -- purely battery-powered ones, sure. My eventual solution was to install the new mounting bracket ATOP the old mounting bracket. I had to run to the store to buy $1.50 worth of new, longer screws that could make up the distance, but it worked great and no one will likely ever notice the extra bracket up there.2) Next, the LED light on these suckers is not faint. It's kind of nice for big rooms and basements, but likely a nuisance for bedrooms. The light is strongest from the sleek central light, but it also gets emitted pretty decently through the air grates on each side. I'm sure I could open it up and snuff out the light better at the source, but some electrical tape over the central light and one grate side was enough for me (both on the outside).3) Lastly, I have NOT tested these devices for smoke/CO detection yet. I read several reviews that quality can be intermittent -- but this is very similar to many other companies, including Kidde! I plan to test each one soon with candle smoke and car exhaust (on batteries).Being that the above issues were manageable, albeit inconvenient, and assuming all these detect smoke/CO as expected, I'd say they're a very solid product for the price.

These were an very easy install to replace the original hardwired smoke alarms in our house as I am planning to sell the house in spring and our state now requires both smoke and CO2 alarms when selling. And since we were moving, I just wanted to pass code for the least amount of expense.First issue was as others have said, the led light is ridiculously bright and kept me awake in the bedroom- wow unbelievable how that small green spot can light up a whole room. After one night we solved that problem by painting over the light with black enamel paint. But the real show stopper was the false alarms that started 4 months after install. We have a 3 level home and early one morning the alarms went off and told me smoke in the basement... NOT. I opened all the windows and doors to make sure the air was clean and they stopped. Then later in the day, they all went off again and said smoke on the top level... NOT. And then it kept telling me over and over there was smoke for over an hour until my hubby got home and was able to remove the alarm.Needless to say, ALL these alarms got unplugged We are living with no alarms now and I will have to figure out another product that will pass code for selling the house. Aside from our own livability in the interim, what prospective buyer will make an offer if the alarms go off for no cause when they are viewing the house? I don't want to lose a sale because of these stupid false alarms. What a total waste of money and time with the insult of having to listen to the obnoxious LOUD false alarms!
