The unit was easy to use and I was quickly able to determine that my auto remote was emitting a signal of 315 mega hertz. This enabled me to proceed to the receiver in the auto. Worked as described.

Completely useless piece of junk. Powers on but gives different frequencies with each press of the button. Not just by a little, 953.22 down to 87 to 412 to 655. 🤷🏻♂️

Worked to confirm RF transmission for remote key fobs for 2006 Saturn and 2014, 2015, and 2019 Toyotas. Have only had one day, so can't speak to the reliability, but met my expectations to help confirm a defective/non-transmitting key fob. Great handy little tool for $25 to confirm those invisible RF transmissions.

I had a car key/FOB that wasn't reliable. I tested the battery with a multimeter and the battery seemed to be good. Turns out, the battery was the problem. This tester is versatile - it will work with many/any RF-based remote control or FOB that is within it's frequency range which is quite broad, AND it will [attempt] to display the frequency on the built-in display. I say attempt because the signal can be modulated and is often a short burst, so it may not always show the center frequency of the signal, but it definitely will be able to quickly confirm whether the remote is sending anything.

This remote control tester works on all my infrared and rf remote controls regardless of brand or type of equipment. It does not come with a set of instructions however with only an on off switch it's easy to figure out how to use it.
