These WORKPRO Block Planes are ideal for cleaning up wood ends and edges by removing thin shavings of wood, in order to make additional wood components fit together tighter, and within desired tolerances. When these low-angle block planes are set at the correct blade depth, they can help smooth rough areas of solid wood components, with greater precision in just a few simple passes. These cast iron block planes are easy to use and include a front wooden handle for improved control. They feature a single hardened and tempered steel blade set at a shallow angle, which allows the blade to slice through end grain with greater efficiency. Best results are achieved when the plane is held at an angle of up to 45 degrees when pulling or pushing across the edge of the wood. Sharp, dangerous wood corners can be easily removed with these compact planes, a process also known as chamfering, which leaves wood edges with safer, beveled edges. These planes are also frequently used for paring and butting end grains of stock material, for touchup and finish work, and for removing dry, hardened wood glue.

I’ve shaved 2 new doors that I’ve installed on older frames with this tool and it’s closing perfectly now! No more squeaks! Once u figure out how to use it, tool is just amazing.

I find it hard to adjust. The blade adjustment and locking mechanism seem sloppy. I can make it work but I think a beginner may struggle.

It's pretty cheap, but works for small projects. No Stanley, but I didn't expect that for the price. Worth the cost.

Very heavy for it's size. Built well and very sharp.

Very inexpensive, it's not a high-end product BUT for the cost it's plenty good enough.

No fancy finishing on this workhorse of a hand plane but it works well.

I purchased several of these for the guys in my cabinet shop. We had a lesson in how to sharpen and tune a block plane. One of three or four (can’t remember how many I bought) eventually cut acceptably. The others yielded a very poor cut quality regardless of how sharp we got the iron. The fit of the iron to the mouth varied from barely acceptable to atrocious.I deliberately purchased cheap planes thinking they would be a good platform to teach sharpening and tuning. I was disappointed to find that the quality was so poor that all but one would prove to be useless.I suppose for the extremely low price they should get some credit. Our inability to get any sort of a cut even on softwoods says they could be rated 1 star across the board. We did have one that was better than the others and did actually produce a shaving that was reasonable on pine. My rating reflects that one marginal success. All things considered, I wouldn’t consider this to be a useful tool.
