  • High Quality: The pipe cutter is made of durable hardness aluminum alloy steel with high hardness, good toughness, and high strength, which does not easy to rust, bend, or break, and the tube can be cut evenly and accurately, not easily deviate
  • Wide Applications: The outer diameter size of the pipe should be less than 60.5mm, ideal for cutting all kinds of plastic pipes and tubes (PVC, CPVC, PPR, PEX, PE, Rubber hose, etc.), it is a must-have cutting tool for your handyman, plumber, electrician, and vehicle mechanic
  • Ergonomic Design: The pipe-cutting machine adopts ratchet transmission technology, which can complete the cutting operation with one hand, cutting more labor-saving and improving work efficiency. The ergonomic spring-loaded handle provides a reliable grip and strong bite, increasing productivity with fast cutting, faster positioning, and single-stroke cutting. Users can cut pipes in 5 to 20 seconds
  • Efficient and Safe: The ratchet drive design ensures the automatic locking function during the cutting process, protecting the user from injury caused by the rebound of the blade. There is a plastic buckle on the bottom of the tube cutter for easy storage. When not in use, the handles on both sides can be retracted and the safety lock can be locked to save space and prevent accidental injury
  • Caution: Cutting PVC or CPVC does a great job. If you need the cuts to be perfectly straight, you will need to support the pipe from both sides. These cutters perform very well at making easy, fast cuts. If perfection is desired though, consider some ratcheting PVC cutters

This tool easily cuts PVC tubing. It has a good ratcheting mechanism and is super sharp. I think it'll last a long time for home use, and I recommend it.

This seems to be one of the only products capable of cutting the large diameter plastic drain pipe that is as inexpensive as it is. It seems to be solid enough for occasional household usage levels. The only thing I hate about this one is that the little hook that holds the handles together is just an unsecured hook. It doesn’t snap shut. So every time you pick it up just to move it the handles come open after you put it down. This is irritating, and not ideal for safety, but doesn’t bother me that much for something I don’t use much. If I were a plumber using it all day it would probably drive me nuts. But i don’t think this is really suitable for daily commercial “all day every day” use anyway. For that you’d want a much more expensive heavy duty cutter made of solid steel laminate or something.

I think the issue is that the blade is flat. My other cutters for smaller PVC pipes have an angled blade with a sharp point that contacts the pipe before the rest of the blade. With the flat blade it crushes the pipe before cutting it enough and eventually breaks it. I tried it several times on 2 inch and 1.5 inch PVC pipe and it broke both types. It might be that the blade wasn’t sharp enough but it seemed very sharp and cut a piece of paper. Either way, it did not work for PVC so it was useless to me. Not worth buying if you want to cut PVC.

Working with PVC isn’t terribly difficult if you cut pipe cleanly and square. Having a nice ratcheting cutter like this makes it simple and very repeatable with making uniform cuts. This is important so joints glue together well without leaving gaps inside to collect deposits (drain) or allow leaks to form. Don’t spend more money than this unless you do this work multiple times a day as a professional. This is good quality for the homeowner that does a few projects per year or less.

Built a kayak rack from PVC pipes. I've never done this before. Every cut was just as I expected, smooth and straight. After cutting 11, 10'PVC pipes, it still cut, but each cut got harder and the blade became less sharp. For me, did the job, made it easy and I'm very happy with the results! Bigger jobs you better get replacement blades or learn to sharpen them.
