I bought these (2.5”) to do a DYI drain job on new sink install, 1.5 inch ABS pipe. Cut it like butter, effortless, straight cut, no distortion, no burrs. Solidly built, light weight, comfortable handle. Read the instructions, make sure the blade release button is in the right position. Great tool, can’t beat the price.

Tool construction is solid but cuts are not square. The cuts, however are adequate to get the job done. I would say this tool is adequate for most small home projects buy if your a professional, spend the money for a professional tool.

Yes, 2" PVC pipe is thick and requires more force than PEX, but this tool works great. Don't go cheap and buy cheaper. I like that the base girls thicker than most, giving better cutting support.

On first use, trying to cut 50 mm pvc pipe it fell apart. The one screw that was left was loose. I don’t know whether the other screws were loose and fell out or if they were just missing.

I received my PVC cutter today and immediately put it to use in repairing some PVC plumbing for my pool pump. It works really well and has no problem cutting through 1 1/2" Sch. 40 PVC. It's made from nicely finished, sturdy metal and the blade is razor sharp. 5 stars from me on this.I practiced using it on some scrap pipe before I began the real work and have a couple of tips to pass along. First, don't get in a hurry. If you go cranking down on a cut, there's a chance you will crack at least some of the pipe in doing so (even at a balmy 78 degrees at my home). Go slowly, take your time and it will slice through the PVC easily. Second, when you have begun your cut and the blade is barely into the PVC, hold the cutter in place and spin it around the circumference of the pipe as far as you can while trying to keep a straight line all the way around. This will establish a small starter cut around the pipe that weakens it slightly in that area so that if the pipe does crack during the cut, it will likely crack along that small starter cut instead of at whatever point happens to be weakest in the pipe at the time.
