Wouldn’t be sharp enough to cut cheese. 20mm pvc conduit was squashed on first cut and then the blade locked up. Returning this and going to get a different set

I've been doing plumbing for almost 50 years. PVC pipe is pretty common for DWV applications. My ratcheting pipe cutter was recently stolen so I decided to give this product a try. I was pleasantly surprised to find the quality of construction of the Thinkwork PVC Cutter to be very good. I did not find any defects in the cutter I received. I got the 1 5/8" size cutter since I use that size frequently for terminal connections to devices with 1 1/4" drains. I also cut a lot of PEX tubing in various sizes as well. This pipe cutter does a great job on all of these applications. If you are cutting 2" or 1 1/2" PVC then get the larger size cutter. You can see the quality of the cut in the attached pic. It is an excellent cut and it was easy to make. I tested the blade swapping feature and it works just as described. The extra blade that comes with the cutter adds value to this product above competitive products at the same or higher price. The safety lock and the ratcheting mechanism work well. I did not test the 2" product, but I would assume that the construction quality would be identical to the 1 5/8" version.Value wise I give this product high marks. The Thinkwork Cutter is priced very competitively with name brand big box store products. The extra blade makes this an especially good value. If you need the 2" product, it only comes with one blade, but the price is well under the competition and makes it an extremely great value as well. If you are in need of a PVC pipe cutter, I can highly recommend the Thinkwork PVC Cutter in either size.

This is a basic tool. Nothing fancy, but it is also well made and sturdy. I have had no issues cutting PVC from 1/2" to 1". I mostly use it on 3/4" PVC for water lines and HVAC condensate drains. The color makes it easy for me to find in a pinch and the handles are slightly cushioned. Overall it is a nice tool.

This is a great, well made PVC Pipe cutter. I've used a hand saw for years and this tool makes it so much easier. I've used it on Schedule 40 pipe, and it cuts it with ease. Just keep in mind that this tool is not to be used with larger size piping. HIghly recommend.

Just got delivered 10 minutes ago, upon opening the box, it looks like the blade is damaged. It's a brand new product. I can't tell if it just the black paint on the blade that has peeled off or if the sharpness has been affected in that place.Overall the product feels well made, heavy and sturdy. Spare blade seems to be good. It also has a small lock on the side to keep the cutter closed for safe storage.

I hate cutting PVC pipe because no matter what method you use it is a mess. So, when I saw this tool I ordered it right away. Now I am not a professional plumber and only do little DIY projects that I feel confident I can do. If I need more encouragement, I watch numerous YouTube videos before attempting it. I did not have a project in mind when I got this cutter but thought it would come in handy one day. I have plenty of scrap pieces of PVC in various sizes and though I would give this a try so that I could review it honestly.First of all it arrives in a cheap flimsy cardboard box and had an extra blade included. It is all metal and feels solid and sturdy and should last a long time. Not sure if you can sharpen the blade when it gets dull, but I don't see why not. First attempt was to 3/4" PVC pipe and was not great. Cut was clean, but not straight. Have seen this complaint in many of the reviews, so I don't think it was something I was doing wrong. Second attempt I decided to put the pipe in my bench vise and try to get closer to a 90 degree cut. Yes it was better, but not quite straight still. I next tried 1 1/2" PVC with same results. Very clean cut, but not straight. I think the reason is because you are cranking the ratchet and your hand does shift. However all is not lost there is a way to make the cuts straight. If you place the stationary handle of the tool in a vise( using soft silicone or rubber jaws) you can hold the pipe steady with one hand and push down the ratchet handle with the other hand to cut. If no vise you can lay it on a flat surface and do your best to not move when making the cut. The vise works the best though. It takes a few practice cuts to get it straight, but I have found the table saw with a sled or a chop saw to still work the best, but they are both messy. For small plumbing projects for the DIYer this should work well enough. I am not sure this tool would hold up to daily or professional use.
