I love the wooden handle. The blade is properly sharp and cuts well as long as you know which side to use for what kind of cut.Easy to hold contoured wooden handle keeps this oriented well as you use it.The steel blade is flexible as expected. I haven't snapped it yet and I have used it a lot. Green wood, lumber, construction lumber. All around just eats wood like it should. The hardware however, connecting the blade to the handle is really easily bent.I have had to bend it back multiple times to keep the blade in line with the handle.Overall not a bad beginner saw, this is way better than the plastic ones you get at big box stores. Keep that in mind!My blue Japanese pull saw, it was effective, but uncomfortable for long term use.I'll keep this and make my own hardware later. I like the handle that much.

I bought this as a fret saw and regardless of wood type it has a kerf which is a touch too wide. I would recommend a better “fret saw” or, what I find works well, is a fine tooth hacksaw blade.

Appears to be a decent pull type saw. Very light in weight, blade is flexible for doing flush trim cuts. The teeth seems to have fairly accurate set, as when flush cutting against pine, it did not leave deep scores, just some light scratches that hand sanded off easily. So for a flush cutting saw it's very good.

I've been extremely happy with every Workpro product I've used. They consistently offer high quality tools at great prices, and this saw is no different. These pull saws are awesome for flush-cutting, which is pretty much all I use it for, though it is perfectly suitable for any kind of saw work. I'd recommend this over a push saw for occasional users, due it's versatility and control. It also happens to be very attractive and well finished for a tool this price.

The saw came disassembled, but it was easy to assemble. You just turn the knob counterclockwise, slip the blade in until it slips into the notch, and then retighten. There's a good image on the product page, the middle image. The knob is a little tight, but that's good for keeping it in place. The handle isn't very slick or smooth, so you can get a good grip on it. It's a sort of oval shape with the sides cut vertically. It seems to be quality made, and the teeth are quite sharp, cutting well, and they included some edge guards to protect the teeth. They even etched the tooth count on the blade for easy identification, and you can see that at the end of the blade. The only thing is it would be nice to be able to find replacement blades, but I couldn't find them on their product page or brand page. Overall though, it's a good Japanese pull saw, and I like it.

My sister first introduced me to these Japanese wood cutting tools, and I was immediately sold. I ordered this one to put in my toolbox in my homebuilt camper, in case I ever have to repair, replace or modify any of the built-in wooden furniture when I'm out on a trip. This is a well made saw and it comes disassembled in a container, which is a perfect way to pack it in my camper tool kit. The price for this saw was very fair.
